I’ve lived for 27 years and in all my years, I’ve lied for various good reasons but I couldn’t understand why it pained me so much that I had lied to her.
I lowered my gaze and calmly replied “It has been dealt with, so you don’t have to worry about it,”.
“I thought as much,” she said happily and continued eating her food, she looked so innocent.
“Your trial would be in a few days, are you scared?” I asked.
“Strangely, I am not,” she shook her head.
