Flora’s POV: As I came into awareness, I could hear the eerie silence around me. Not a bird was cheeping in the trees, not a soul was talking and the strong, pungent smell of burn still lingered in the air. I tried opening my eyes, but it was just so bright. I lifted my dirt-covered hands to rub them awake. “Flora?” Rose chimed in my head. I hear her voice is filled with grogginess and lingering exhaustion.
