“Zara. Can you hear me? Wake up..”
I tried to bring her back to consciousness but only got a few groans from her and in the next moment she started sobbing.
“Mom.. Dad.. Please don’t leave me.. Take me with you… Don’t leave me alone... Mommy... Please..”
She gripped my shirt tight while she sobbed. Her eyes were closed but tears were pricking out of the corner uncontrollably. She was crying as if she was back in her childhood when she lost her parents. And it made me feel even more guilty. I should have been more careful about her...
