I stared at the bushes, it was definitely a person or a big animal. My first thought was that Ben might have come by to see what I was up to. He knew where I’d be but Ben wasn’t the kind of person to pry. That’s why he got along with my younger brother so much. They kept to themselves and respected privacy. I sniffed the air and quickly realized I was right, it wasn’t Ben. I didn’t want to have to kill in front of my mate so soon but I would if I had to.
