Mike laughed watching her disappear upstairs. He knew when a woman was mesmerised by him and had no intentions of letting Jessica off the hook. In the guest bedroom, Jessica locked the door behind her and and sighed with relief. She just needed to making it till morning and then she would never be alone with Mike again.
“Off to sleep now boys” she told her team before getting into bed.
“Are you sure you will survive through the night?” Lucas asked mischievously. Jessica and Mike were obviously attracted to each other. They could hear it over the mic.
“Get your mind off the gutter, detective. He is the suspect, nothing more” Jessica reprimanded him, her cheeks already burning.
“In case you were wondering, nothing is stopping you from having fun with him. As long as it’s consensual”
“Good night, detective” Jessica said before turning on her mic jamming signal like she always did before sleeping. She had no intentions of entertaining Lucas’ suggestion nor her team listening in on her dreams should she dream out loud, especially now that they had a lot of Mike in them. She tossed and turned on her bed wondering what Mike was up to. Was he still in the kitchen, maybe clearing up the dishes they used when they were baking. s**t, this man was messing with her head, she thought right before she heard a knock on her door.
“Jess” Mike called with his irritatingly alluring husky voice.
“Go away Mike, I’m sleeping” she shouted with no intentions of letting him in.
“I brought you coffee and our cake”
She cursed inside. Coffee would be great in this weather but it meant letting Mike in her bedroom.
“Jess” he called again when she did not answer.
“What are you doing Jess? What happened to your military discipline?” she asked herself as she got out of bed and started dressing up.“Coming” she responded, unlocking the door, letting him in.
“This room is freezing! Why is you air conditioner off?” he asked, walking in and placing the tray on the bed.The fire on the fireplace had died.
“I didn’t notice that there was one” she responded as he took out the remote control from one of the drawers and turned on the warm air.
“This is great” Jessica exclaimed, sipping the hot chocolate with marshmallows on top.
“Unlike that medicine you serve at the café?” he teased.
“Lord, no. That’s terrible!” she exclaimed laughing.
He watched her laugh, licking his lower lip “You should laugh more, you are really alluring when you do” he said, tracing her lips with his finger before taking the empty cup away from her. Sitting on the bed next to her, he lifted her chin, dropped his head and kissed her. Few minutes later, they were both completely naked, as if under a spell, Jessica followed his every lead.
“Mike, Oh Mike” she moaned opening her trembling legs wider for him as he thrusted deeper inside her. Her moans fuelled his every move as he kept his eyes on her. Their union more intense than he expected, he groaned the same time she screamed, reaching c****x simultaneously.
“Definitely better than in my dream” he said when his heart started slowing down, getting off her and pulling her to his chest.
Jessica turned sideways looking away from him, this was a mistake. Admitting how great he made her feel was out of the question.
“Jess” he called, moving closer and putting his arms over her. He was so close, his manhood was touching her buttocks, his breath touched her face giving her goosebumps all over again.
“You were…”
“This was a mistake, please don’t make it awkward” she cut him off, suddenly self conscious.
“Judging by your body’s reaction, this was a mistake worth repeating” he whispered to her ear.
“What?” she asked. It soon dawned on her what he meant when she felt his hard manhood pressing against her buttocks.
“Jess” he called her name unable to mask the desire burning inside him. His raw almost hoarse voice the last thing she needed to hear.
“Just tonight and no more” she responded, lifting her leg slightly to give him the room to penetrate her from behind. She gasped as he slid in, filling her up again. The throbbing pain she felt the first time much less now.
“I don’t know how to move with this position” she confessed. The movies and soap operas did not really give all the details.
He chuckled, the implications of her statement strangely comforting to him “That’s okay” he said pulling her against him with his hands on her waist and thrusting in and out of her. Before long, she was on her knees doggy style with Mike still pulsating deep inside her and her screams louder. It was midnight by the time they both lay in bed exhausted. Mike fell asleep with a huge grin on his face. The night’s events were very unexpected, he will definitely come up with a way to turn this one night stand into a regular basis thing.
The following morning, Jessica got off Mike’s car and literally ran to the café hoping no one would notice her arrive with the boss. Mike laughed looking at her disappear, the view becoming too familiar to him.
A month later, the dull boring Spencer tours café was colourful, vibrant and buzzing with activity. The café was the new hot spot with their signature red velvet cake selling faster than Jessica could keep up. Ryan and Jessica suddenly had too much on their plate and required more assistance. They had already hired two more waitresses because Jessica was now spending most of the time baking to keep up with the red velvet cake demand. Not only were they constantly running out of the famous cake, their tables were also becoming short because the neighbourhood company employees were also coming in at their tea and lunch breaks. It turned out that everyone in that area had long waited for a space to relax, rewind and have good coffee. It was becoming harder for Mike to even see Jessica. Even when he came for his cappuccino, the other waitresses served him because Jessica was apparently busy baking. He was sure that she was busy because he could see the activity in the café and it’s profit but he was also certain that she was avoiding him and decided to push her hand. He timed his arrival at the café with the company’s lunch break knowing that the place would be packed. While the waitresses were busy trying to clear the table for him, he demanded to see Ryan and Jessica.
“Miss Mayers, I recall you promising to reserve a table for me before we did renovations. Since you failed to keep your end of the bargain, I expect you to personally bring my cappuccino and cake to my office every day from now on” he said with a straight face.
Ryan nodded “Certainty, Sir”
Jessica shot Ryan a disapproving stare. She was still thinking of a way around Mikes demand.
“Very well then. I expect my order in five minutes” Mike said walking away, leaving Jessica punching Ryan hard on the chest.
“He is the boss and you did promise him the table” he responded defensively.
“You could have told him that any of the waitresses could deliver!” Jessica exclaimed.
“I can’t oppose the boss’ orders”
“You such a weasel!” Jessica said, getting Mikes order into takeaway containers and leaving the café.
“Hey Jess, let Ryan know that the delivery is expected tonight” Leah whispered when she saw her passing.
“Sure thing” Jessica responded. That was the third delivery of Hail in one week, the drug was selling like hot potato while it’s casualties were increasing at an alarming rate. The team now had the middle players but could not arrest them without scaring off the head, whom they all suspected to be Mike. The drugs definitely came with his Spencer tours cargo, his manager Julian distributed it to different role players but they still had nothing on Mike. The team had suggested she gets closer to him because he was obviously into her but Jessica was hesitant. The night she shared with him was making her an emotional wreck. Reaching the third floor she knocked on the CEO’s door.
“In” he shouted.
Jessica walked into the massive office to find Mike with his hands in his pockets standing in front of the big window facing the harbour. The scenery was breathtaking then there was Mike with his back on her. The perfectly fitting black suit pants and white shirt he had on outline his strong shoulders and well toned buttocks. “Focus, Jess” she reprimanded herself.
“Your order Sir” she said formally, placing his order on the massive mahogany desk.
“The woman in my dreams”
“Good day Sir” she said heading out right before his hand grabbed her, bringing her to his chest.
“Jessica swallowed hard when his arms snaked around her waist “ This is inappropriate Sir” she said before his lips met hers. Still entangled into a passionate kiss, the door swung open, Zane walked in.
Jessica broke away from Mike her cheeks burning.
“Hey Cuz, Hey Jess” Zane greeted looking at them mischievously.
Mike cleared his throat.
“I will be on my way” Jessica said rushing to the door.
“About the other day, no hard feelings” Zane shouted.
“Sure” Jessica responded already on the corridor.
Mike looked at his cousin with his eyebrows lifted.
“I slapped her sexy butt, she kicked my balls” he explained. “I did not know that she was your girl” he added when he saw Mikes sharp stare.
“That’s s****l harassment Zane and she’s not my girl”
“Are you sure about that? Because that guy does not agree” Zane responded looking at the bulge on his cousin’s pants.
“Shut up and knock next time” Mike responded sitting down to cover his bulge.
“Delicious!” Zane exclaimed munching on the red velvet cake and drinking the coffee. “Aunt’s recipe, still the best” he added.
“Hey, that’s mine!”
“You can order another one” Zane responded, stuffing the rest of the cake on his mouth and almost chocking.
“I can’t do that, she will think I’m trying to allure her here” Mike explained, sulking. His cousin could be a pain sometimes.
“Are you not?” Zane asked after swallowing.
“Shut up!” Mike responded, not impressed with him.
“No wonder you are not on the tabloids with the next potential Mrs Spencer, you are indulging at home” Zane said mischievously. Mike was a wealthy eligible bachelor, the journalists stalked every women he is seen talking too. Business women and female bankers preferred meeting with him in private because of that.
Mike laughed “I’ve just been busy”
“Yes, you have been very busy teaching the potential Mrs S a family recipe”
Mike was speechless
“Is she the one you found still sealed?” Zane asked mischievously.
“How do you know about that?” Mike asked shocked. He only told his best friend Steve about his night with Jessica. Steve would never tell Zane about it because the two did not get along.
“I heard the maids in your house talking about it. Is she?” Zane asked, curious. It was always beneficial for him to know more about his cousin.
“None of your business” Mike responded sternly.
“I will just go ask her” Zane teased, Mike’s reaction confirming his suspicions.
“Don’t you dare! I will kill you with my own hands!” Mike threatened. The last thing he needed was his cousin scaring Jessica away.
The door swung open, the mood in the room completely changed as Petrose Spencer walked in.
“Uncle” Mike said respectfully.
“Dad” Zane said with his head down.
“What are doing here?” Petrose glared at his son.
“Uncle, he’s turning his life around” Mike intervened.
“He’s still on drugs! Didn’t you rush him to the emergency room last week?” Petrose shouted.
Mike’s jaw dropped, he did not tell his uncle that.
Zane kept his head down
“You didn’t think I would find out? How long are you going to cover for him, Mike? You should know better not to let him in here!” Petrose shouted clenching his fists.
“He is family, we can’t just desert him. He will go to rehab” Mike explained, pleading with his uncle.
“You said that a hundred times before” Petrose sneered. Mike has paid large sums of money to get Zane to rehabilitation facilities but Zane always absconded. Not to mention the jewellery he stole from his mother and money he stole from the company to fund his addiction.
“I am serious this time, I swear” Zane responded.
“Shut up and get out of here! I don’t want to hear any more of your lies!” Petrose roared. He had heard that line a thousand times before.
Zane walked out, leaving Spencer tours with his head down. It did not matter what he did, his father always preferred Mike anyways, he thought with resentment.
“Calm down uncle, stress is not good for your blood pressure” Mike pleaded leading his uncle to the couch.
