Yelena's POV
"Argh! I can't do this anymore!" Rio said and laid her head on the table. We're at the library, looking for something on how to defeat the evil king and save Vincent.
I sighed. I looked at all of them. Emil's eyelids are drooping, feeling sleepy. Oril's standing behind the door. Chris is reading while Phillix is busy fiddling with his phone. Vice went out earlier.
I sighed and flipped the pages. "Lucky these were all written in English – " I said.
"What's English?" Vice asked as she put a cup of coffee in front of me.
I smiled. She's thoughtful. "Thanks." I said and looked at her.
She smiled back. "You're welcome." she said as she sat beside me and picked up a book to also read.
I sipped the coffee.
"Hmm? We don't have one?" Chris asked as she looked at the cup of coffee in my hand.
Vice smiled.
"Get someone who'd made one for you." I told her, drinking the coffee while flipping the pages.
Chris frowned.
"Bearil. Make me a tea." Rio told Oril. Oril did a thumbs up and went out.
Chris sighed, feeling more depressed and bitter she doesn't have a love life.
"What's this, Yelena?" Phillix asked as he looked at me and then Vice. "You found yourself a lover - ?" he said.
I spit my coffee. "What the heck – " I said and coughed. I patted my chest. "Phillix!" I called, my face burning. He just laughed and took a picture of me.
Phillix, or Phoebe, was my manager in the other world. He's really a guy. But, he found crossdressing amusing, thus he acted as Phoebe. He's better in acting than me, this, I admit. Wasn't I fooled by Phillix? I never noticed he is from this world!
Vice chuckled. "We're just friends – " she told him.
I almost dropped the cup when she said that.
"Ah! Careful!" Vice said and held my hand when the coffee almost spilled out of the cup.
"A – ah… thanks." I stammered.
"Hmm…" Chris said. "She's not your lover, but – " she said as she looked at us. " – she's your wife - ?" she asked.
I dropped my cup and it broke. "Ah. Sorry, Vice." I said and bent down to pick up the broken pieces of the cup.
"Ah, no – " she said and also bent down to help me.
"Ow!" I cried when I pricked my finger. "Ow…" I cried when I saw blood flowing out.
"Yelena! Are you alright?" Rio asked, worried, as she flew towards me.
"Princess! Be careful - !" Chris said.
"Yelena, you okay - ?" Phillix asked.
"Yelena." Vice said and held my hand.
I smiled. "I'm okay." I said to assure them. "I just pricked – " I gasped when Vice suddenly pulled my hand and covered my pricked finger with his lips. I could feel the warm and wet lips as she sucked my finger. "Vi – Vice - !" I cried as I looked at her in disbelief. "What are you – ?" I asked, but she's concentrating on sucking my finger.
My face burned and I hastily pulled my hand from her grasp, making her surprised. I didn't say anything and just left without looking back.
Vice's POV
I looked at the door where Yelena went out. Phillix and Chris laughed the moment Yelena left.
"What… happened?" Rio asked.
Oril sighed. "It's better if you won't know." He said and put down the tea down the table in front of Rio.
"Hey." I called the two. I asked for their advice yesterday on how to make Yelena fall in love with me. "I just did what you told me. Why did she run away - ?" I asked.
They laughed harder. "That… it was her idea – " Phillix said and pointed Chris, then he laughed again.
"Yeah, I did." Chris said. "Isn't it priceless - ?" she asked, then laughed again.
I frowned. "I'm not the least bit amused." I said. I sighed. "What should I do?" I asked.
Phillix chuckled. "Finally… it's my turn." He said.
I looked at him. Somehow I felt assured. It's the Sage that will give me advice.
"How about this?" Phillix asked and whispered.
My mouth fell open as I gasped. Phillix just laughed.
"Hmm?" Chris said, puzzled, as she looked at me and then Phillix.
"What's that?" Rio asked.
"Don't join in their conversation since you're just a kid – " Oril told her.
"You know I'm not." Rio said. "I'm older than you – " she told him.
I gulped. I looked at Phillix. He nodded. "Good god… how to do this…?" I muttered and sighed. For the love of Yelena. I thought. no matter how many times she'll tell me this isn't love… I know in my heart that I love her. I thought and smiled.
Yelena's POV
"Sorry I'm late – ah. Vice?" I called when I saw her alone in the library after I returned. "Where's everybody?" I asked and went inside. I closed the door behind me.
"Yelena." She called and looked at me from head to toe.
"Hmm?" I asked. I'm feeling guilty, talking to her so casually when I just felt aroused earlier because of her. I thought and grimaced. "What?" I asked.
She shook her head and looked back to the book she's reading. "They left earlier. They said they're hunting something." she said.
"Oh." I said. "Okay." I walked to the table and looked for a book to read. "Dragons... elves… mountains… forests – " I read as I look at their cover. "Fairy, witches – " I said and grabbed a book. "Cave – ah." I muttered.
"Ah." Vice said. Our hands touched when we reached for the same book. "You…" she said, blushing. "You have that. You need that more. I'm just helping – " she said and fixed the locks of her hair. "You need that to save the West prince – " she added and took a deep breath as she looked away.
I stared at her back. My chest suddenly felt hurt. Why am I hurting just by looking at her back? I thought. I took a deep breath. "Look at me." I said. She didn't turn. "Look at me." I repeated.
She took a deep breath then turned and faced me.
I held my breath when I saw her crying face. "Vice…" I said and wiped her tears. I felt my heart breaking every time her tears fell.
"Yelena…" she cried. More tears fell.
I felt my heart being crushed. I took a deep breath when my chest hurt again. "Vice." I called, combing her hair. "You know already when I told you that what you feel for me isn't – " I said.
She cut me off. "Yes." she sniffed. "It's… it's not love…" she sobbed.
"Then you shouldn't – "
"How the heck I should not?!" she snapped.
I was taken aback. She... raised her voice. I thought.
"It just hurts…" she said and sobbed. She took a deep breath. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I yelled at you." She said and stood up after he wiped his tears. "I … I'm gonna call them – " she said and walked past me.
