[Brielle's POV] I keep my gaze fixed on the window where Thad disappeared while wondering how high up my room actually was. Was he okay? Did he get hurt when he hit the ground? As these thoughts race through my mind, the door to my room opens, and L stands there watching me with an unreadable expression. Like all the other times we met, he wears a mask, so I still can't make out any of his features aside from those eyes, and immediately I am enthralled. “Why was the door locked?” He asks, making his way toward me. “Was someone here?” His voice is cold, and his gaze is fixed on the window. Just from his demeanor, I know he is well aware of the fact I wasn't alone, and lying would be pointless, but something in me screams to protect Thad, especially after his and L's last run-in. “I…”
