1355 Words
“You got a job. You don’t have to.”; Eleanor said. She wants her daughter to live like a princess. A carefree life she could not get. “I like working, and the shop seemed great.”; Aahana said, politely. She does not want to be rude to the woman. “We have many opened places in our manor. Samuel and Michael are in need of secretary and it would be a good pay.”; Eleanor said. She does want her to go far away. She did not know that Aahana was trying to figure a way to get out of this manor and family. “That’s very kind of you. But we already owe you all too much. We don’t want to burden you more.”; Aahana said. Her tone was polite yet firm. She was clear that she won’t work for Griffith family at all. “If that is what you wish”; Eleanor gave up. She does not want to pressure Aahana. She does not want to be hated by her own daughter. Aahana got up, nodding a little she walked out of the manor. Aarav looked at her as she got of the tea room. “Did something happen?”; He questioned. “She offered me a job just like Samuel did.”; She answered. He nodded as they walked away from the room. “What about you?”; Aahana asked. “I have given the exam to enter in the school. I have no idea how they teach but from the question, they are not really advanced in medical science.”; Aarav answered. Aahana nodded, it was expected. They are in old world; they sure have magic but they don’t have any kind of technology or medical facilities. “Isn’t it weird? You would think that people have magical powers would be much more advanced but they are not.”; Aahana commented, making her brother chuckle. “I heard something happened in fief. Archduke and his sons are busy tackling with it. They are busy for now.”; Aarav informed Aahana. “Oh, so they work for real, huh.”; Aahana commented. She really doubted if they work or not because wherever she was, they would be present there. It was as if they have no work at all. “True. Anyway, they are busy. This will be the right time to build connections in this world. We need to visit a priest, other than that Eugene.”; Aarav said. Aahana nodded. They were aware that there were risks in that, therefore Aarav have decided to let Aahana use her powers. “Where is Nogi?”; Aahana questioned. “In kitchen, that was where I saw him few minutes ago. He is loved by the servants here.”; Aarav said. Aahana chuckled and shook her head. She does not need to worry about Nogi, at least. ……………………………………………………………….. Rowan frowned as he sat on the bed of a hotel. He has nowhere to go for now and he cannot enter in Archduke manor because of the orc case. They have increased the security; it is as if they have converted their manor in a fortress. He went out of the hotel and started walking through the streets. He has to admit that fief is very well kept. This is the reason why Archduke is a respected man throughout the empire. His wore a head covering to hide his black hair which are uncommon. He was walking when he saw a girl with long black hair got down a carriage. His eyes widened; he had never seen anyone with the same color as himself. It was as if she could feel his stare, she looked at him dead in the eye. This made him flinch in surprise. She raised her one eyebrow in question but soon gave a small smile before walking in a shop. He stood frozen in a place. He has not seen anyone so exotic, sexy yet innocently gorgeous at the same time. Is she a foreigner? Because he has never heard of tanned people in Cranait. “Wander Jist”; He whispered the name of the shop before passing. “I want to know about the girl.”; He ordered. “Yes, Your Highness.”; Kez answered. He was not to be seen anywhere just his voice was heard. Kez sighed in his heart, does the Crown Prince has a crush now. This will not end well. Aahana on the other hand took her position in the corner after greeting Mary. She explained how Aahana was to manage the funding of the shop. She was the manager of the shop, while Mary would be the owner and the sales person which was odd to her. Mary could hire salesperson as well but she did not. “You will be given thousand gold coin a year.”; Mary said. Aahana nodded. Thousand gold coins are too much. She has looked at the currency and you can buy a good house with a garden and backyard for about twenty gold coins. Seeing that she will not be using any gold coins she will have more than enough to buy a house and live a good life with her brother. She looked out as she saw Rowan passing by the shop. She smiled, remembering the shock in his eyes. He had the same kind of fascination and shock when he saw her in bathroom. She sat down and opened the register to tally the accounts and sort the money out. Just as she did the gate opened. Aahana looked up and her eyes widened. A lady with blonde hair and golden skin came in. Her emerald eyes shined like the gem. She was wearing long bodycon dress like gown. Her heels clicked as she walked inside the shop. Her hair was adorned with jewels like diamonds, rubies, gold, silver. You name the jewels and gems and she had it on her. “My Lady, it is great to see you again.”; Mary entered the shop as the lady smiled. “It is nice to see you again. I booked an appointment.”; The lady said. She looked around as her eyes went on Aahana. She narrowed her eyes but soon gave a smile to Aahana, who nervously returned it. “Of course, My Lady. You want a full wardrobe change. Please follow me.”; Mary said but not before changing the sign of the shop to closed. Aahana frowned but did not question it. Mary led the lady down stairs. “You hired someone, Mary.”; Aahana heard the lady question it. “Yes, My Lady.”; Mary said as they walked down and their voices could not be heard again. Aahana frowned as she looked at the closed sign but said nothing and started her work. She is not the owner of the shop to question Mary’s action. This is her shop; she can do whatever she wants to. …………………………………………………. “Why is the shop closed, Lewis?”; Ezekiel asked. “I don’t know, Your Majesty. It was opened a minute ago. Why would the owner close the shop?”; Lewis questioned. “Did some noble customer entered inside the shop.”; Ezekiel asked. Lewis has been keeping an eye on the shop as he was ordered to. “After Miss Aahana, no one entered inside the shop.”; Lewis answered. Ezekiel frowned as he tired to open the door but it was locked while there was black blinds, he was unable to see through the glass. What is this shop?
