Carina I squeeze my eyes shut as John drives us onto the highway. My stomach is in knots and my heart is nearly beating out of my chest, but I feel alive as the wind beats against my exposed skin. John squeezes my hands that are wrapped around him and then places both hands on the handles. I try to lift my head a bit, forcing myself to open my eyes and take it all in. I still don’t know where we are going but I force myself to relax. After a half an hour drive, John starts to slow down, and I am greeted by the sight of a carnival.
