CHAPTER 6 - GIRL ON THE MIND - NOAH'S POV

I looked around the auditorium, checking out all the new students, but in the back of my mind, I knew I was really only looking for her.
Etamina... the name was growing on me, strange and oddly compelling like its owner.
I sat down next to Dom in a daze, I was frustrated, I could not see Mina anywhere. Why did I care? I couldn't believe this, one glance, and I was hooked.
I remember what dad had told me a few months ago, ''You just wait until you meet the one Noah, one look, that's all it'll take, and you won't ever look away, you won't want to.''
I shook my head, Mina wasn't the one, there was no such thing, no one ever stayed together. But still, I hadn't gotten her off my mind since I'd seen her. No. It was purely because she was hot, I just wanted to scr*w her, that's all. I just need to get it out of my system and I'd move on.
''What are you looking for?'' Dom asked, as he started following my line of sight.
''Nothing,'' I lied and looked back towards the front where the professors were waiting. ''Just taking it all in.''
Dom smirked at me, he knew I was lying, and of course the jerk couldn't let it go.
''Really?'' He said smugly, as he settled comfortably in his chair and put his arm over Chloe’s shoulders, and I focused on not throwing up at the thought that he liked my sister. ''So you’re not looking for a certain lover girl from this morning?''
''Whatever, man. She's just a girl.'' I rolled my eyes and ignored him as I settled in as well.
''So, what’s her name?'' He asked as he continued to smirk at me. ''This, just a girl?''
''Mina,'' I told him.
''Weird name.'' He commented, and I felt the urge to deck him for insulting her.
''So is Dom.'' I snapped, defending her, I didn’t even know her, why was I feeling territorial?
''You sound like you’re into BDSM.''
''Maybe he is.'' Chloe chimed in, making me want to throw up again
''F*cking, gross Chloe.'' I snapped, ''I don’t want to think about you guys doing sh*t like that. Hell, I don't want to think about you two doing anything!''
''Anyway,'' Dom said, ''Are you going to ask Mina out? Seemed like you liked her, what with you following after her like a little lost puppy this morning. I could practically see your tail wagging.''
He laughed, and I elbowed him in the ribs.
''Shut up!'' I rolled my eyes, ''And I’ll ask Mina out when I see her again.''
''Mina,'' Charlotte said, finally looking up from her damn book and joining the conversation. ''As in Etamina Riley?''
''I don’t know her last name.'' I answered, though in my head I started replacing her last name with mine. What the F*ck was wrong with me?
''But how many Etamina’s can there be?''
''Well. You might as well forget about her.'' Charlotte laughed, a rare occurrence, she’d always been the more serious of us three. ''You’ve got no chance.''
''Why?'' I asked, annoyed at her.
''I told you earlier,'' Charlotte informed me. ''She's too smart to fall for your cr*p, and when I say smart. I mean, like genius level smart, I read her file in the admin office before college started, she’s got an impressive GPA, best in our year, best in the whole college. In fact, her file said she was accepted into Harvard, Yale and Oxford,. She's not going to fall for your lines.''
''So, like you to know your competition.'' Chloe smiled as Charlotte affectionately, ''I can't believe she chose to come here if she could go to Harvard.''
''I agree with Char.'' Dom smiled at me, ''If she is smart, she's not gonna fall for your cr*p, go for easier prey, like Amber, you know she wants you.''
''F*ck off!''I rolled my eyes, and looked a few rows ahead where Amber was sitting with her friend and flirting with some guy in front of her. She'd been trying with me for years now, but I was not interested. She was far to clingy for my liking, plus, I liked a good chase. ''I’d have to be blind to touch that, or at least, wasted beyond reason, and I can get Mina, just wait, I’m not giving up on this one, there’s something about her.''
''I thought she was just a girl?'' Dom asked sarcastically and nudged me
''She is.'' I said confidently. I’d never not gotten a girl I wanted. Mina would be no different, and then she'd be out of my system.
In truth, I was nervous, no girl had ever made my heart race, and it was racing again when I thought about asking her out. I looked around the room again, but she still wasn’t there.
''Naw, Chloe, I think our boys in love.'' Dom noticed and shook his head as he laughed.
''I'll start the wedding preparation.'' My sister shot back.
''You both need to shut up!'' I snapped and looked behind me again, and this time I found her sitting alone with her eyes closed.
I wanted to continue watching her, but Dom cleared his throat and I quickly turned around with my arms crossed, but he just laughed harder, so I punched his leg, and took great satisfaction in his groan of pain.
As the Dean began to speak I tried to listen, but I couldn't concentrate. I drifted into a daydream about Mina, but the s*x dream soon changed into something else. All I could think about was those eyes, even when I tried to go back to thinking about her body or getting her naked, her eyes kept coming to mind.
Why were they so appealing? I could look into them for the rest of my life.
What the f*ck... STOP THINKING ABOUT HER! She's just a girl. My girl... NO! Get the f*ck over it, she's just a girl, nothing special, although I couldn't completely convince myself.
After two grueling hours of listening to the Dean and various other teachers and students, we were finally free to go. I only had four classes today, which I thought was ridiculous. You should never have classes on the first day but maybe I'd get to see Etamina again, so I wasn't complaining.
My first class today was an advanced language course. Mina wasn't in it, but I finally found for the first time since meeting her she wasn't on my mind. Well, not completely anyway.
I loved languages, different cultures fascinated me, I've always dreamed of traveling the world and living in every continent, but there really isn't enough time for me to live everywhere. Unfortunately, I had already traveled a lot. Dad has to travel alot for work, so we got to travel a lot as kids.
The rest of my morning was great, and I caught up with Dom for our mythology lecture. Dom was only taking it for an easy pass but I was really interested in mythology. I don't know why, but I've always believed there's more to life than what we see.
I'd nearly forgotten about Mina, nearly, images of her eyes or mouth would pop into my mind every now and then, but I was trying to push them back but when I heard her laughing with Tiane, my ex and best female friend, I couldn't help but look at her while my heart missed a beat again.
Get a grip, Noah you i***t. I scolded myself, but I still couldn't look away, her laugh lit me up inside, and I wished I was the one making her smile like that.
