Chapter Four My neck was sensitive to the touch so I selected a collared shirt to cover any evidence of the attack. As I dressed, my mind drifted to the girl on the Embarcadero. She hadn’t been a figment of my imagination nor had my savior been a dream, though perhaps she was the reaper disguised in sheep’s clothing, and the reality of the nightmares that had tormented my slumber.
