Thirty Five

Luke’s POV Getting into the backseat of the car, Delia gave me a look, but then she said nothing. Normally, I would sit beside her in front of the car, but not tonight. Not only was I tired, but I was confused as well. I rubbed my temple and then I saw Delia looking at me from the rearview mirror and I groaned. “Are you all right, Mr. Whitlock?” she asked me and I nodded. “Well, you’ve sure been acting weird.” She said, reversing the car out of the car park. Blowing out a long exasperated breath, I shook my head. “Well, I’ve had a long day, and the weirdest day possible.” I said. “Hmm. Do you want to talk about it?” she asked but I shook my head. I wasn’t sure I wanted to talk about it yet, because that seemed like I was making it real, validating it, and I didn’t want to do that.
