AUBREY’S POV
When Duke lifted the boot of the car up, I stabbed his leg with all the energy I had. I didn’t waste any more time, I jumped out of the car as I ran for my safety.
Duke groaned in pain and he cussed several times as he called his friend.
We were in the middle of nowhere at an arid place. Beside me were just shrubs and a couple of trees. I don’t like running but today, things are different since I am running for my own life.
Duke’s friend started chasing after me and I had to double up my speed. My stomach grumbled in annoyance and I felt deprived of energy but I kept going.
Finally, I saw two couples at a distance and all my hopes were rekindled. Out of nowhere, I got the strength to run for my life. Duke’s friend ran after me cussing out loud and he wouldn’t
