Ezekiel
We followed Marisoll and stopped at a big, thick and strong tree, she climbed it with ease while I helped mystic Zerena make her way up.
The branches were thick enough to lay comfortably and not risk falling out. Everyone found their spots, and we got what sleep we could.
The dawn, the days, they weren’t much better than the night, there was no sun here to guide us, days consisted of thick black grey clouds, sometimes raining, sometimes not.
When morning came, Marisoll was the first one to be awake, she was already out of the tree down below and cooking more meat, rabbits by the looks of it. Animals weren’t really a thing here these days and I wondered how she managed to find food so easily, perhaps her Druid gifts helped.
I looked over to the other branch where Cairn had slept, he was awake in more ways than one, his hand was down his trousers moving back and forth fast and frantic, eyes closed. I averted my gaze, I did not need images of Cairn pleasuring himself.
My gaze traveled over to a still sleeping mystic Zerena, she was on her back, her big milky white b.reasts rising and falling as she breathed, now, I wouldn’t have minded seeing her pleasure herself, that image would have been very welcome.
Curse the gods, it had been so long since I’d spent the night with a lady, my mind seemed to drift towards inappropriate thoughts of women more and more. Cairn helped himself with his hand, I would do the same if not for the worry of being caught by a predator unaware in the midst of climax, that would be a humiliating way to go, whether I came back to life or not.
I swung my legs over the branch and leapt down to the floor. The darkness that infected this world had changed things, even us mortal men and women, for men like me and Cairn, the not dying a true death was a damn good thing to have, it meant we could keep fighting, we could jump from great heights and not break our bones, we could endure much more damage than a normal man, super human strength you could say, and this would hopefully help us in the battle against the dark lord.
I walked up behind Marisoll and without even turning she greeted, “morning Ezekiel, come and eat, build your strength up before we leave.”
I sat opposite her and took the cooked meat she offered. I didn’t find her beautiful or attractive like I did mystic Zerena, but I couldn’t deny there was a certain allure to her as a person, I admired her strength and her fighting abilities.
Cairn appeared from nowhere and dropped down beside her, his presence I noticed did surprise her unlike mine.
“Got any for me?” He grinned at her.
She narrowed her eyes at him, and I could tell she didn’t like that he had been able to sneak up on her like that. She passed him some food, and he wolfed it down within mere seconds the beast, I rolled my eyes as she passed him more meat.
“Save some for the rest of us,” I muttered.
“f**k you, loverboy,” Cairn snarled back.
“Loverboy?” I asked confused.
“You’ve been crushing on mystic Zerena for as long as I’ve known you, why don’t you get it over with and ask her if she would like to fuck.”
I c.racked my neck trying to stay in control, I know he wanted to rile me up, but today I wasn’t wasting time fighting him.
“You would love to f**k her as much as I would,” I snapped.
“Of course I would, she’s beautiful, but good to finally hear you admit it, I’ve lost count the times I’ve caught you staring at her t.its.”
“Must you talk so crudely,” Marisoll interrupted.
“My apologies,” I replied.
Cairn, ever the gentleman just ignored her and carried on eating. I mentally rolled my eyes, he was rude to everyone, the only person he seemed to show real respect towards was mystic Zerena, it was the first time he had spoken of her in a s****l manner and a crude one at that, but he never treated her less than a lady, never spoke to her less than one either, as much as I could not stand him I knew he respected her.
Mystic Zerena joined us not long after and while she ate, Cairn stood up and said, “shall we leave soon?”
Marisoll rose an eyebrow at him, “you wish to run head first into the monster’s lair, the monster of all monsters, and not train first?”
Cairn looked down at her where she still sat and sneered, “I’ve trained most of my life to fight, I’m ready.”
She stood up, meeting his eyes, “as ready as you were when I fought you?”
“Still pinned you down in the end, didn’t we?” He smirked.
She swept his legs out from under him sending him sprawling to the floor. Both me and mystic Zerena laughed at his angered face. Cairn had always been hot-tempered for as long as I’d known him, I was not surprised when he jumped up and threw a punch at her, his fist connecting with her jaw and sending her toppling back.
It seemed her temper matched his own, they both fought one another, Cairn split her lip and she split his right back, both threw punches and kicks, some hitting their target and some blocked, more than once they knocked each other to the ground, but neither allowed the other to pin them down or get the upper hand.
I smiled happily to see Cairn get a taste of his own medicine, she was as good a fighter as he was and unlike everyone else, she was not afraid of him. I looked over to see even mystic Zerena had a light smile on her lips, enjoying the show as much as I was.
Both Cairn and Marisoll were covered in their own blood as well as one another’s when mystic Zerena stood up and commanded, “enough!”
Cairn and Marisoll both glared at one another breathing heavily, their faces inches apart looking like they wanted to tear one another apart, I knew Cairn respected mystic Zerena too much to disobey her, so with a sneer towards Marisoll, he snarled and spat blood at her feet before walking away. He looked at her with the same level of hatred he had for me.
She made her way over to me and mystic Zerena and said, “it is important we train first, prepare, it will be a big mistake to go up against the dark lord with such little preparation.”
“Then train we shall,” smiled mystic Zerena while she used a cloth to wipe the blood off Marisoll’s face.
When she’d cleaned Marisoll as best she could, she left her in my care with some ointment she’d made, told me to apply it to Marisoll’s wounds while she went and spoke to Cairn to see if he had cooled down yet.
Mystic Zerena had made the ointment in a small wooden bowl of sorts, bending down in front of Marisoll who was sitting on a log, I gently took some of the green paste and applied it to a gash on her cheek.
She didn’t wince or make a sound of pain, yet this was the most feminine and bashful I had seen her, she appeared flustered and shy with me so close in her personal space and touching her face.
She was a curious one, formidable and not one to back down from a fight, yet outside of fighting she was bashful and shy around men, it was rather endearing.
I wasn’t usually so bold or rude, but I found myself asking, “why are you so shy around us when we are not fighting?”
Shy perhaps, but certainly not afraid to be honest as she replied, “I have never lain with a man before, your fingers upon my face are as intimate and close as I have ever been with a man, my apologies if that makes me bashful.”
“There is no need to apologise,” I smiled and then stood up before my body reacted. There were many a man who would love to lie with a virgin, I wasn’t so perfect that I was immune to the news, I admit I wondered how she would feel, how wet she would get, how tight she would feel.
I pushed the thoughts away, these days anything could turn me on, a hag with no teeth would probably be good enough these days. I shook my head at myself, disappointed and saw mystic Zerena walking back with Cairn beside her.
He looked as though he wanted to destroy everything in his path, but I knew he had calmed down. When they reached us mystic Zerena jabbed him in the side with her elbow making him growl, but he looked to Marisoll and grumbled, “my apologies for losing control.”
“Apology not accepted,” she snapped.
“Why the f**k not?” He growled back.
The look on his face would have men running for cover, but not Marisoll, she walked right up to him until they were a hairbreadth from touching. “Because if someone must tell you to apologise then it is not a real apology, come back to me when it comes from you and not because someone has told you to.” She stepped back, leaving him with a surprised expression on his face, Cairn was never surprised by anything, and it felt satisfying to watch him squirm and be thrown off by this mysterious Druid lady.
