*Zac*
I walk into the office seeing Jensen tab Amir on the shoulder. “Hey man, I have the information for you. The number of your baby sister's boyfriend, it belongs to a guy named Casper Peters, he is a paddleboard instructor who goes by the name C-man”.
“C-man ?” Amir huffs. “Seriously, does every teen think of himself as a gangster these days ?”
“He is nineteen”. Jensen says, looking slightly uncomfortable. “So still a teenager, for about two more months”.
Amir looks about to blow something, like the vein in his neck maybe. I have never seen him like this before and I wonder what it is with this kid. “He is nineteen”.
“Oh and he has three priors … just for pick pocketing though”. She says, looking like she expects an explosion from her colleague too.
I walk closer, curious as to what this is about and hoping they will reveal it. I am bored and could use something else than our deadlocked murder case to occupy myself with.
“He got a record ?” Amir halfway yells, like it is Jensen’s fault, but I guess it is a case of killing the messenger. “Is there anything else ?”
“I have to ask you to do your best to remain calm here”. Jensen says, talking a deep breath before turning the screen on her desk. “Check out his f*******: page”.
I lean in, looking over Amir’s shoulder, on the screen there is a very pretty, but also very young girl posing in underwear. I can practically feel the anger rolling off Amir, so I assume this must be his sister.
Amir turns to look at me, his eyes inflamed with anger. “Hey Zac, are you available ?”
“For what ?” I ask.
“To kill the punk who is dating my fifteen year old baby sister”. He growls in a way that is worthy of an Alpha wolf.
I nod and follow him. Finally something interesting is happening. “I can make time for that”.
According to the search Jensen has made on this guy's phone he is currently by the north beach, so that is where we drive to.
As we park the car i. The parkinglot and get out I can’t help but say. “Look Amir, I am not really comfortable, and probably not at all that suited to be the voice of reason here”.
To be honest Astrid would laugh her ass off if someone told her that Amir brought me to keep him from doing something dumb
“Hold this”. Amir says, handing me his gun, before striding over the sand.
“But hey let me just remind you that former cops do not really do well in prison”. I say halfway running to keep up, feeling like the silly sidekick. “Just so you know”.
Amir ignores me, striding up to the van with the paddle boards outside and the sign saying ‘knock for paddle board lessons’. And he does just that, knocks on the window.
The door slides open and a blonde guy, looking rather like an American surfer jumps out. “What’s up ? Are you guys looking to get wet ?”
“No, I am Sahira’s brother”. Amir tells him. “I am here to talk to you”.
“Which Sahira, I know a few of those”. The i***t says with a stupid grin.
I have to grab Amir pulling him back as he lounges himself at the young man. “No, no, no. Whoa, relax. Just think about it … Like what would we do with the body ?”
When Amir nods and breathes in deeply, apparing calm, I let him go and he looks at Casper. “The one you have on your f*******: page”.
“Oh yeah, she is smoking hot that one”. The dumb ass grins. “Tell your parents they did good with her”.
“No, whoa … stop”. I have to throw myself in front of Amir, grabbing him again, or he would most likely have snapped the kid's neck like a twig.
Amir is literally shaking with rage, as he points over my shoulder to Casper, a vein bulging in his neck. “This punk needs to be taught a lesson. He got a record Zac. Pick pocketing. Three times a loser, and he has the nerve to say ‘which Sahira’ … which Sahira ? She is fifteen you perv”
“I understand, believe me I understand”. I tell him as I hold him back. “But we do not want a heart attack do we ? So let’s breathe, remember to breathe”.
“Believe me, I am prepared to do life to take his”. Amir says, pointing to the punk again. “Do you get it Zac ?”
“Amir I understand, I …”. I turn to look at Casper, who looks more confused than scared, which proves he isn’t the brightest. “I got an idea, it is not a great idea, but maybe Casper here can help us out …”.
The i***t kid takes a step forward. “Umm C-man…”.
“Shut up”. I growl at him. Then I turn back to Amir. “Keep in mind, it’s not a great idea, but it is the best we have …”.
