Each King watched me carefully, Zara gave me a soft and amused look.
"I didn't mean to call him those things, I just had a very bad day and he cut my favorite dress, and then I was crying so my vision was blurred and I-I froze up." I admitted rushed and worried while deciding it's best to just be upfront about these things. I get some points for honesty and owning up right?
They exchanged confused expressions and I watched them look to me carefully, "Who?" King Cronus asked.
King Klaudio grinned, "You're a jittery thing." He said finding this amusing as he sat back rubbing his chin.
I bowed, remembering that I forgot to do that, His grin reminded me just how bratty they are, "I-King Valen. Isn't that what I'm here for? To hang me? Or decapitate me?" I asked quietly.
They all began laughing and I furrowed my eyebrows, I was beyond confused at this point, "No, but this is about Valen." King Cronus stated as he cleared his throat.
What?
Giving them each a long stare, I dropped my gaze, "Forgive me but I think I've had a day too long to be thinking clearly. I don't see what you mean." I said thoughtfully.
King Klaudio grinned, and then King Aladric smiled, "You'll be married to Valen, you'll become our final and last Queen." He said with a bit of...pride?
I laughed softly, "No, I'm an orphan, I work on the farms, I-I don't even own a place, I don't have a known family name." I said lost in confusion.
Queen Zara gave King Cronus a look, "Never tell a King no." He said to me with a bit of scrutiny.
Oh s**t, "I did not mean it offensively in any way Your Majesty, I simply met I believe the King Valen deserves much more than a peasant orphan." I stated bowing my head and dropping to my knees.
The doors opened and I listened as King Valen cursed when he walked in, he had a bow in one hand and a deer on his shoulder.
"Someone should put signs on the woods. Almost killed some peasant demon." He muttered as he looked from the bow up to us.
I gave a small glare and watched him just walk out to another room without even a word or glance.
Looking to King Cronus, I watched him give a slight grin to me before King Valen was gone, "We'll announce the marriage tomorrow morning, and the next morning you will be readying for the wedding." He said with a soft smile.
Then he let his eyes run over my body, "I know it's a lot to take in, going from rags to riches, but you belong here." He said before giving a nod to the guards.
I stood and gave a curtsey, it hadn't processed yet, so I just blandly said thank you and left without fully understanding why or how.
Maybe I'm dreaming?
Lifting my wrist, I pinched it, ouch. I'm definitely not dreaming, oh goodness.
I was led back to the house and explained all of it to Moira, she almost lost her damn mind and then she gave me a hug and said I better not ever forget I raised her.
I'd be married to a King in two days.
Not just any King, but the most hateful one. I guess I should be happy it's not Mad King Klaudio, the guys ruthless.
I sighed and let my hair soak in the lavender that floated in the bath tub.
Never say no to a King, that's the big rule.
I hadn't cried, I think I was just numb from the confusion. It's not every day a King just marries a peasant girl, I don't even think he knows it was me.
He must be refusing a wife, which would explain the Kings coming together without him. They chose me? Cronus probably chose me, ugh how aggravating.
I don't want to be a Queen!
I like my quiet simple and yet insignificant life. It makes me happy, makes me feel like I belong to myself not others.
He probably doesn't even care he's getting a wife.
Cronus's POV
She's perfect, maybe I'm just being blinded by the desire I have for her, but she would work for Valen. Any woman who'd tell a King no, well all the Kings no, is a woman who can surely fix the spoiled and angry Valen.
Going to the room, I gave it a knock and waited patiently.
The door opened and I stared over at his arms covered in red blood and his shirt drenched in the dark blood, "Killing someone, are we?" I asked jokingly.
Valen gave me a look of annoyance, often his expression, "Get on with it Crone, what?" He asked clearly aggravated with my presence.
I held out the small box and stopped, sighing as I noticed his bloody hands, "We found your bride, you'll be married in two days. You'll meet her at the dinner tomorrow night and then you'll marry her the following afternoon." I said moving past him to his room.
Placing the wedding ring down, I gave the skinned deer a long stare, "You have people who can do that for you." I said confused as to why he'd want to get his hands dirty.
He gave a deeper glare, "I'm thrilled, she better be a quiet one." He muttered before adjusting the skinning knife in his hand.
Right, "I think she's just what you need." I replied while he scoffed, "You mean she's got a face and pair of t**s that you want to f**k?" He asked bluntly.
Internally sighing, I gave him a small scowl, "Goodnight Valen. Enjoy your...shit." I said as I walked out the room shutting the door behind me.
He's an i***t in every possible way.
Going down the hall, I watched as Phoebe held a book in her hands, one filled with pictures of different dogs, "Planning on getting one?" I asked while watching her smile up at me.
Phoebe was my favorite Queen, besides my Wife, but there's something about this young one that just made me crave her endlessly.
She looked down at the pages and then moved the book to me, I stepped to her side and ran my hand along her waist, staring down at the page.
The Dalmatian was classy, a nice dog for her too, "Then we'll make sure we have it here for you by the end of the this week." I said softly as I stared down into her beautiful eyes.
Not every man is lucky enough to enjoy not one, but seven woman.
I wonder if Valen will share his bride, he doesn't usually like to share anything. Either way, I could just ask and she can't refuse.
Jane's going to be my new favorite Queen, I can already feel it.
