Once inside the barren apartment, Ollie turned to Mike, embarrassed. “I have furniture coming later this week.” Heat rose to his face. “But there’s an air mattress in the bedroom.” Mike raised an eyebrow. “It’ll be like camping. Hot.” They both laughed. Awkwardly, Ollie took his hand and led him to the bedroom. The first thing he saw was the picture of him and Walker in its frame, propped on the windowsill. He had an urge to rush over and place it face down. Mike obviously saw it too. “You got a boyfriend?” There was a little hesitation in the question that said Mike didn’t want to be part of some clandestine thing, didn’t want to be an accomplice to infidelity.
