I felt a hand rub my arm and I opened my eyes quickly to look around, hoping he had woken up. Samuel still had his eyes closed and I frowned in disappointment.The nurse came in, so I got out of his bed.
“I felt his hand move. He rubbed my arm,” I said, pointing at the hand that touched me.
The nurse started taking his vitals
“That might be just a reflex. Sometimes patients do that. Maybe he heard you and his body’s reaction to your voice is to move unconsciously. We have many cases like that, but it doesn't mean they will wake up,” the nurse replied.
Way to give me hope. I took a deep breath and stood there watching her finish her work. I wanted all of this to be over.
