The Alpha's only Weakness

6. A whiff of heavenly scent

Leo-

I wake up to the call of my alarm which has a very soothing and calming tune.

'Hmm, well today is the day of big celebration.' I thought as I get up and move towards the balcony to have some fresh air. After that I move to my luggage and take my three-piece out and place it on the bed and move towards the bathroom to get done with my business. 

I come out and wear my white shirt and tuck it my navy-blue trousers. I wear my vest and then the last piece of clothing of the matching colour of my trousers. A hear footsteps and the aroma of food hits my nostrils and I understand that it might be room service as I gave a call before for my food. As a werewolf we have a very big appetite and also our sensing power and our hearing power is heightened than the humans.

I have my breakfast and just then, my phone makes a 'ping' sound notifying of a message. I check and find that the message sender is Lily. I hastily open it, "Be home early or forget you ever had a sister." it says. I sighed and replied her, "Yeah, whatever you say baby sister." Not even a second and I again receive a msg from her, "I'm not your baby sister anymore, soon I'll find a mate for myself and I really hope that he is from far away kingdom." The msg says. 

I understood she is not in a good mood because of me leaving to attend this celebration. I really hope she'll be blessed with a trustworthy, loving and caring mate. I just hope it isn't from the 'Night Fire Pack', I again heave a sigh. Those maters are to be worried about afterwards.

The celebration starts at 10:00, but I have to reach there by 09:00. I had already mind-linked my driver to be ready with my Limo. I get in my car and take my phone out going through the news during whole ride. Once we reach, I get out of the car after the head guard open the door. My body guards are werewolves involving the driver and they have been driving ahead of my car in another car. 

I move towards the entrance gate and watch David Davis, the principal and Carton Thompson, the vice principal standing there with some other teachers. "Good Morning, Alpha. We are really honored to have you as the chief guest." Davis says through our mind link as both him and Carton along with some other teachers are from my pack and they cannot openly greet me like that with humans by their side, so all of them greet me through our mind link. 

As I move closer David again greets me, "Good Morning, Mr. Stone. We are really honored that you came here to be the part of the celebration, taking out time from your busy schedule. We are really honored and we welcome in your own property." He says and I just nod at him. They start walking inside after all the greetings from everyone and as I move I see flowers used in for decoration purpose. The sight is really worth watching but I don't pay any attention towards the other decors and only notice the ones that are in the hall through which I am walking. There are curtains being dropped from the top in a flowy curve, wave shape and then tucked at the pillars, leaving the rest to flow freely. As the university is 100 years old, it has royalty even if the facilities provided are modern. And keeping it's architecture in mind the decorations have been done in royal styles which really makes it look like a big castle.

We enter David's office and I walk towards the head chair and sit. 

"We are really honored to have you as our chief guest Alpha. It really does means a lot to have you clear up your schedule and come here, seeing that it's your birthday tomorrow." David says.

"Well it isn't like I'm leaving behind my birthday celebration to come here." I say dryly.

"We'll leave now and check upon some things till you sit here." David says and I merely nod.

They both leave and I start checking upon news before my mind wanders off to my mate. 'It'll be my 24th birthday this time and I still haven't found her. What will it be like to sense her for the first time, to hold her for the first time, to kiss her for the first time, to witness her smile for the first time. How will she take it knowing that I'm her mate; the most feared Alpha, would she be proud of me or would this scare her away. Would she'll be an Alpha, but I have met everyone and I couldn't feel the way I think it should feel. Then probably she is a warrior or maybe she has still not turned 18 and couldn't sense me but that wouldn't stop me from sensing her and smelling her heavenly scent. Or wait, what if she is a human...'

"Alpha, we are about to start the celebration. Please come." Carton says interrupting my thoughts from the other side of the door after knocking slightly.

I don't say anything and rather move out and make my way towards the chair allotted to me. The time goes with several funny poetry by the students and the teachers playing the recorded videos of them planning pranks on the teachers. Some are successful but not all them for some of the teachers are werewolf with super sensing power in matter of smelling and hearing. But poor humans, they got into the trap. After sometime I feel my phone buzzing in my pocket and I up and move towards one of many empty hallways. On the way I fish out my phone and see my mom's name flashing on the screen. I answer the call, "Hello mom, everything's fine?" I ask her after I greet her as she rarely calls me when she knows that I'm attending something important.

"Hii baby, everyone's fine here. How are you?" She says.

"Well, as you might know I'm right now attending the celebration and yeah, it's going well." I say.

"Ohh., um.. I just called you to remind you that you have to be here first thing in the morning." She says.

"Did Lily asked you to call me?" I ask her knowing the answer already.

"Um yeah, she did. So you are coming on time right, I mean you have been late more than once, or shall I say you have not at all attended your party more than once." She says gaining a little authority by the end of the sentence.

"Lily, I haven't missed any of the parties you had planned for me in the past, I was late and I assure you I won't be this time." I say directly to Lily knowing well she might be standing either beside mom or in front of her listening to our conversation.

"Um, she wouldn't talk to you until you come." Mom says.

"Don't worry mom I'll get her to talk to me." I say and after that we talk about the celebration at the university. I finally hung up and make my way towards the celebration ground. As soon as I enter there a very melodious voice cuts me off and I smell the most heavenly scent and look around for it's source. It smells of soil after rain with mixture of roses, ohh so heavenly. By this time my wolf has started howling in pure bliss and the students from before make their way off the stage after performing whatever number of songs.

"MATE!!, Mate is here, she is here among these students." My wolf says getting giddy by each passing second, which is absolutely unlikely of him but 'man can I blame him..?' I frantically start checking around but I couldn't find her in the crowd and involuntarily I start searching for the students who just performed here seconds ago. "Mate! Mate! Mate!" My wolf keeps chanting while looking for our treasure.

"Mr. Stone, what's the matter?" David asks me when I am about to go and search for her in the crowd forgetting that I am the chief guest here and most importantly, the place is filled with humans.

"I need to find someone" I say and start moving.

"Alpha, what happened?" He then asks me through mind link which I ignore. 

"Mr. Stone, where are you going?" He again comes in my way and I give him my death glare.

"Don't get in my way." I say trying to control myself not wanting to attract the unwanted attention from the humans, as the teachers were already witnessing our exchange.

"Oh, then it'll be really nice if we talk in some secluded area, I actually wanted to discuss something with you." He ushers me towards the way of the hallways while nodding at Carton, probably gesturing him to take care of everything while we are gone. I glare yet obliging with him because as much as I hate to admit it, he is indeed right. We move to a secluded area with Ryder, my wolf yelling to go follow her scent, but I can't do it seeing the situation given and he being a wolf doesn't care about it, he doesn't know how things work with the humans and doesn't give a s**t about it.

 We move towards a secluded area, "I need to go find her!" I snap as soon as we enter the hallway, he looks at me with confusion after realization hits him.

"Is it..." he starts but I cut him off, "Yes, it's our Luna and I am going to find her." I say making my way back.

"Alpha please stop, I know I shouldn't stop you and wouldn't have but the given situation isn't nice to just walk in the crowd for searching our Luna, there are humans outside." He says reasoning with me.

"So what do you want me do, shall I just sit here caring about those humans and not find my mate." I yell at him.

"No Alpha, but we can't try what you are about to do, we could find some other way." He says and one of the teacher make her way in the hallway going past us after slightly nodding at us. David ushers me to walk to his office while I keep looking outside. "GO TO MATE AND THAT TOO RIGHT NOW." My wolf says trying to come at the surface.

"Alpha, we can't just ask them to stay here all of a sudden and also it's time for them to leave." David says making me more infuriated.

"Then tell me WHAT THE f**k DO YOU WANT ME DO!?" I yell at him starting off slow but getting louder by the end. I see his eyes colour getting a lighter, meaning that he was mind linking with someone.

After a few seconds, Carton comes inside and David explains him everything while I try my best to keep Ryder in control knowing well that he'll only calm down when we'll hold her in our arms.

"Alpha, the students are going to party in clubs and all of them are going in different clubs and well some will probably have a house party and few those who don't like partying might stay at home." Carton says and I look at him confusedly 'Why the hell is he telling me this, I'm going to find my mate here itself!' but as if on cue, "Students have start leaving." He says.

"THEN WHY THE f**k ARE WE WAITING HERE!?" I say raising my voice.

"Alpha, the students will go for the party at night. We...we have to wait till then. And there are so many students but I know some clubs they might go to as I heard them discussing about it." Carton says and I sigh as I can't do anything for now.

The rest of the day I sit with whole teachers staff but my mind wanders off to my mate again,' Did she too sense me, then why didn't she come to find me. Maybe she too was restricted by this human world s**t. Or wait what if my mate is indeed a human...  if so then... I feel my wolf growls menacingly on the thought of our mate being a human.

~So what do you think is gonna happen when finds out his mate?

Would she indeed turn out to be a human and if so how do you think he's gonna react to it? The way his wolf became all alert on the mention of his mate being human; what was that reaction? 

Was he infuriated pondering on the thought of her being human? Would he hate her?

Did he react that way her being human would make her easy target for those who despise him and the mere thought of others harming her made his wolf infuriated and Ryder's menacing growl was directed towards his enemy.
