I didn't know what to expect, but it wasn't to still be standing, alive, in the circle holding my sisters’ hands. They both cracked open their eyes and looked around before laughing. "We did it." Devin said almost crying before pulling her hands to her belly and rubbing it gently.
"No one has to die." Aurora stated also crying, but I was just stunned and kept looking around. I noticed Dean and Mark getting up from the ground and Mark too off at a dead run towards Devin while Aurora ran to Dean who had a bad limp and bloody arm.
"I don't understand." I whispered and looked at both couples.
"See, no one has to die." Devin said and laughed again before moving towards me.
"They all disappeared after I said a curse." I said holding my hands up when her and Aurora got closer.
"What curse, and what did it do?" Aurora looked happy and wiped her dirty face.
"It was a fatal curse, and I put it on myself." I stated and looked at both and saw their eyes turn angry.
"Are you crazy! You're only 21 Ivory!" Devin shouted, and I blinked.
"What kind of curse? Are you sure it even worked? Why would you even risk that?" Aurora asked coming closer, a little calmer and touching me, almost sighing in relief.
"It was supposed to make me fade away." I said looking at both and then my hand in Auroras.
"You are so stupid. We could have handled them! It was working." Devin shouted her lie, we all knew it was a lie.
"No, it wasn't Devin, you and Aurora kept your eyes shut and didn't see all the undead heading right for us. I did what I had to do. You both have your mates, Devin, you have a baby on the way, I am expendable." I said, and I saw the anger come back full force.
"You are not expendable! You are my baby sister, our baby sister. You have a mate, Clarissa said so! You haven't even met him yet and you were ready to die?! No, you are going to live if it is the last thing I do." Devin shouted getting closer and closer before narrowing her eyes and coming closer just a bit.
"She's right Ivy, you have your whole life. We agreed none of us would take our own life and yet you cursed yourself. I am glad it didn't work." Aurora smiled at me and leaned back into Dean before he hissed. "You need to sit down so I can fix your leg and maybe you can just wrap his arm." She asked seeing my medical bag slung over my shoulder.
"Yeah." I said, and Dean sat on the dirt and sighed heavily when Aurora pulled up his pants leg.
"Sorry. Here." She closed her eyes and whispered a numbing spell and touched his leg. I got the gauze out of my bag and then started wrapping it around the slice on his upper arm as tight as possible.
"Your arm will heal before you wake up, it's not that deep." I said with a sigh and felt short of breath and sat right back down and tried to calm my breathing.
"What's wrong?" Devin asked, and Mark moved to kneel beside me.
"Your eyes are yellow." He told me, and I blinked. "The white, it's yellow. What does that mean?" He looked up towards Devin and then Aurora.
"It means my liver if failing." I said and moved to stand up and this time Mark helped me up. "I need to get to a hospital."
"No, you need a pack doctor. No doctor could explain why you were healthy and suddenly have liver failing."
"It's just jaundice." I said and felt a slight ping around my stomach area. "Let's go." I said and winced visibly as the pain grew worse.
"Get her to the pack doctor now, and collect these bodies, I have a bad feeling she will need a liver transplant as soon as she is checked into the pack clinic." Mark stated and lifted me up making my whimper and push at him now that I was scrunched together.
"It hurts." I whispered when he shifted me to be more comfortable, but it hurt more.
"Sorry, but this is the only way I can carry you, it's either this or the over the shoulder thing and since I know where liver is, I know how bad of an idea that would be." Mark said and started moving faster but keeping me in the exact same position, eventually the pain had become such a strong feeling that it was dulling because of the constant pain.
"Hey, you going to pass out?" I heard Dean ask and I opened my eyes, not even remembering that I had let them fall shut. "Keep your eyes open okay?" He told me before looking around.
"Come on sis, open your eyes." I heard A and blinked and saw bright lights but for some reason I didn't mind it. "There you are. Mark was right, you're getting a transplant." She told me, and I started to panic but then she said something.
"What?" I whispered and looked around.
"We love you baby sis. And you are going to live. Got it. If you don't I will kick your ghost ass." Aurora told me, and I tried to give a smile, but I wasn't sure if it was one officially or not.
"You fight, you return to us, and then we will have a serious talk about that expendable crap." I turned my eyes and saw Devin on my other side.
"We got all the other organs stored appropriately, we are ready for her in the OR." I was wheeled in and I let my eyes flutter shut before they even put me under.
I opened my eyes and looked around, seeing huge bookcases, all of them about random things and then, some not so random. I picked up a place card with my name on it and then flipped it over.

~The ones before you.
I looked around the room and opened my mouth to call out to those before me, but no sound came out of my mouth at all. I looked around and stomped my foot but again, no sound. I smiled slightly and walked towards the closest shelf seeing birthing books and my smiled widened even more as I pulled it out. I looked around to find somewhere to sit but just behind me, where there wasn't anything before, was a couch, a chair, a fire place, a plush carpet with a couple different size blankets.
It was my dream reading place. I walked towards it with an extra skip in my step and sat back on the couch and pulled a blanket over my feet.
I opened the birthing book and read away.
