Episode 57-Double attack

Hero sighed and moved closed to me looking straight into my eyes, probably wondering what he was going to say.

"Aren't you going to say anything?" I asked, looking back into his eyes wanting to read his deepest emotions, his unspoken thoughts but he masked them to well, I was definitely not expecting what was coming next.

"I know" I must admit, I was quite taken aback by his sudden declarations, there was no way he could have known his brother betrayed him and still played it cool. It wasn't him, it's not the Hero I know. But then, he had more to say.

"We planned it, when Zioko told you about everything...you know, you been trapped in the bottle for a while, I already figured I'd been betrayed because only my brothers knew about it. So I confronted him and he told me his wife and kids were abducted, we formulated the plan together Claire-

"It's your fault then" I let out indifferently.

"How-

"You never told me anything Hero, you never told me what you were going through, you never told me what you are planning, you never allow me into your private matters, you never let me do anything Hero...if you had actually trusted me enough to tell me anything, maybe I wouldn't have gone behind your back trying to protect your brother, trying to make you happy...trying to protect you! What did I get? Being chained to a f*****g bed!" I roared not caring how high pitched my voice was, I was just so mad at him for every thing, I was only trying to protect him. Despite how harsh I sounded, he only moved closer to me and rubbed a palm on my cheek.

"Do you trusted me enough to have me handle it Claire?" His question made me frown.

"Claire, did you trust me enough to handle things? I was watching everything Claire...if I needed your help I would have asked for it-

"Would you have really?" I arched a brow at him and he sighed in response.

"I would have but you didn't give me a chance to even ask-

"Because I'm trying to protect you-

"I'm not a kid Claire, I can protect myself...why do you keep treating me like the same young Ghafil you met on earth?!" He raved, raising his voice that loud for the very first time and to be honest, that was kinda true, I had been treating him like that, I just thought he...I couldn't even bring up anything to defend myself.

"You see, you can't even deny that Claire...I'm a king not just some young alien-

"All I ever did was support and protect you Hero, you know that" My voice had fallen and I sounded timid now.

"I know, I just want you to stop doing that for now Claire...focus on bringing our baby to life, focus on being a mother right now and I'll focus on being a King that I am" His voice was firm and his command was straight, he made up his mind.

"So, what are you gonna do? Tie me up to the bed forever? Huh?" I inquired.

"I-" he was still trying to respond to me when a male Ghafil ran in panting heavily whick make Hero frown, he probably instructed for no one to disturb in while he address the issue we had.

"What do you want?" It's funny how fast Hero can switch moods and character, just a second hew as acting the protective husband and from his voice while staring angrily at the maid, he sounded like a commanding King.

"Apologies my king, I was requested to tell you that few space ships have been spotted from a 1000 miles away approaching Zullion's atmosphere" Hero immediately paled by the news.

"I wasn't expecting them to make a move so soon" Hero muttered to himself probably deliberating his next line of actions.

"I want you to summon the ruling council, there is an emergency meeting, pass a message to my brother to alert a state of emergency, until we get rid of the humans approaching, there is a curfew...order from the king!" Hero concluded and the servant nodded immediately scampering away. Hero then looked back at me, then walked up to me with a worried expression on his face.

"Hey, look at me" I requested and he slowly lifted his head to do just that.

"You'll do great...go out there and protect your people, I want you to know I'm always here if you ever need my help, I'll focus on our kid for now" I promised and he slowly beamed hugging me tightly before he headed for the door, then I suddenly realized he had took my straps off, I was no longer trapped to the bed, thankfully.

I resumed knitting and try to make myself productive for my baby while I just hear rumours and news about Hero's effort of trying to stop the humans as well as the prince, I tried my best to keep myself out of his f*****g business but it was hard, not when the palace red alarm went off blaring so hard as he alerted everyone in the building that there was an invasion, and the silly thing is them telling me specifically not to move, it was exactly what I did...I didn't move, or thought I wouldn't.

I let out a heavy and try to concentrate on what I was doing but I couldn't f*****g do anything, the whole planet was in chaos, I didn't have Barb to talk to, I didn't have anyone tell me what was freaking going on, I felt stranded, neglected, abandoned and I was still lost in my thoughts when the door to my room opened up to reveal Barb.

"My queen" I frowned at the sudden formality.

"Barb-

"The king requested I keep you in no matter the circumstances, he said to be rest assured that he'll handle it" Barb informed and I knew for certain Hero had done something to her from the way she was addressing me but I did nothing than sit down and knit, I heard explosions outside the building and within the palace building and I made sure to control myself from bulging from my seat until my window exploded of course.

"That's it damn it!" I cursed out loud and hastily rose to my feet to face three Ghafils in suit climbing unto the window, seriously? I thought within myself before making circular motions with my hand and immediately forming comics blast that sent them flying out.

" I thought Hero said he had the situation under control, where the f**k is he?" I was infuriated now.

"The space field, he's the king and in charge of space war and commands, he's battling with the war in space right now" Barb immediately responded.

"And who these pricks then?" I furrowed.

"They are the rebelling troops of Prince Zioko and the former queen, I think she's out everyone under control, right now...she's been singing" Barb relayed and I slapped my hand to my face, the situation looked really under control, I sarcastically thought.

"We have to find the former queen then, if all these people attacking us are a palace servants, it'll be a waste killing them-

"My order is to keep you safe-

"And the perfect way of doing that is letting us find the former queen before she compel me and have me cut my own throat, Hero definitely wouldn't like that" I retorted sharply and Barb nodded.

"Give me a perimeter scan and trace where the frequency of the song is coming from, we can find her that way" I suggested and Barb went pensive for a moment.

"She isn't far, she's at the palace gate but have dozens protecting her-

"Barb, I'm a biological being with a brain, she can manipulate the neurons and everything...you alone can stop her, I'll try to see if I can get the palace cleared" I instructed and Barb nodded to my command, she was about heading out when Nio emerged with a long alien sword in his hand, his eyes looked pretty lifeless and his body seems to be out of his control.

"He's been manipulated...I think-

"Just go Barb, I'll handle it" I assured cracking my knuckles as Hero's brother got ready to attack me.
