/Ember’s POV/
I’m not exactly sure what happened after I passed out, but I could tell I was burning for a while, and by the time I finally opened my eyes, mom and Mia were right there in front of my bed, just that I wasn’t in my bed.
“What on earth is going on?” I asked groggily. Raising from my former bed, which I used when I was much younger. I forced my tired body up against the headboard.
“You’re awake.” Mia rushed over to my side, looking strangely worried.
“Get off me, man.” I frowned grumpily when she reached for my forehead to check my temperature.
“Considering he’s back to being so annoying, yeah... I think he’s fine now,” Mia relayed to mom, who heaved a heavy sigh of relief.
