“I Luro Brown, reject you as my fated mate,” Luro’s words fell like drops of acid into my ears, flowed through my veins like micrblades, plunging me into a sea of deep agony.
My knees buckled and I dropped to the hard ground with a pained groan. I knew I deserved this, but it was becoming too painful to bear. It was as if my heart and soul were being ripped apart piece by piece.
My fingers gripped into the fabric over my thighs, and I swallowed hard. I closed my eyes; hoping that it would somehow reduce this feeling of being burnt and frozen at the same time but to no avail. Even after closing my eyes, Luro face remained in front of my eyes; accusing me, blaming me. I was drowning in the dark sea of lament and despair.
