735 Words

RYAN KEPT CALLING AND leaving voicemails for Kate throughout the day. He implored her to pick up the phone and talk to him. He apologized in writing by sending several emails to explain his outburst. The man wrote to Kate that he had gotten too many projects in development, so he was tired and stressed out. However, he didn’t mean to snap at her. That had been just a knee-jerk reaction. His fervent wish was to meet Kate. He couldn’t do it right then, and that drove him crazy. Kate ignored his messages until later in the evening. Tired herself, she didn’t feel like dealing with Ryan and his moods, so she answered one of his repetitive calls only after nine in the evening. “Oh, my love, I didn’t mean to upset you,” Ryan spoke fast, afraid that she would change her mind and hung up on him.
