Ember:
Mother and children finished breakfast before us, and without letting on we would leave, she took the children with her to the greenhouse. This was probably for the best. Harris would have thrown a fit if he knew we were leaving. He would want to come with us. The prison was no place for a child. Harris was far too young to see it. I know that one day he would be any Alpha and would have to learn about these things, but that day was a long way off.
After finishing breakfast, we headed straight for the prison. Jutus question whether or not I should come. Maybe the previous Luna didn’t go to such places. Maybe it was outside her duties to be involved with prisons. I had had little time to learn what all my duties were. I knew tending to the women and children was a part of it. This could be outside my duties as Luna, but I wanted to show my mate support. Beside Damien was more than happy to let me come along. If he thought I shouldn’t, then he would have told me.
I wasn’t worried about being endanger; I knew I could protect my child and myself. Beside I wasn’t planning on getting involved in the questioning, only watching from a distant. Some part of me wanted to know why they did what they did. I knew going there would get me the answer I seek without having Damien lying or hiding the truth of me. Damien could be protective at times, hiding small things from me that he feared would find upsetting. I didn’t hold this against him. I understood the reasoning behind it.
We arrived at the prison in a few minutes into the drive. To my surprise, the prison was above ground, but below. The prison was a concrete bunker with a metal fence around the area. The fence was taller than the bunker itself, standing ten feet tall. There were warriors stationed at the gates and at the bunker doors, all of them carrying guns laced with ammo laced with wolfbane, or so Damien explained. They guarded the bunker prison 24 hours a day with warriors taking shifts, inside and outside the bunker. Upon entering the bunker, I found the inside was metal, with large solitary doors blocking off each cell block. Near the entrance of the bunker was a security office where some guards were watching cameras. Damien took me to the security office and explained that I would watch everything from her. I agreed, knowing it was better that I wouldn’t enter any of the cells with the men who wished to harm our children and me.
We shared a brief kiss, before he and his Beta headed off to question the first of warriors.
“Luna, you can watch from here,” the guard stated, directing me to a camera. The view was a metal cell with a table and two chairs. It was empty for now. Waiting for a few moments, saw a man and his guards enter the cell. They soon chained him to the table, then to the chair. I looked toward the man’s face and noted him being the warrior who first yelled at me. He was the one who spoke up against my mate. I noticed he was still wearing the same clothes from the day before. But he looked weaker than before. I knew he had been injected with wolfsbane, and they made the surrounding chains from silver. This had weakened his wolf, taking his ability to shift away.
I waited and waited until Damien and his Beta finally entered the room. Damien leaning on the wall while Jutus took a seat in the chair across from the prisoner. The prisoner didn’t look up, not wanting to meet the eyes of his Alpha.
“Omega Kevin, do you know the reason why you are here?” Beta Jutus questioned, as he finished laying on his files on the table.
“I did nothing wrong,” Kevin the prisoner stated, still not looking up.
“Yes, you did, omega. You attacked your Luna and her children,” Beta replied. “We know that already. We don’t know the reason why. Why did you want to hurt your Luna?”
“I didn’t want to hurt my Luna,” Kevin explained, avoiding all eye contact.
“Knock off the s**t, tell the truth or we will force it out of you!” Damien growled, his voice shaking the room.
“I mean, we just wanted to scare her. She is... she is witch.. she can’t be over Luna, we just wanted her to leave,” Kevin stuttered, as his body trembled. Damien’s eyes darkened.
“You want your Luna to abandon our pack?” Damien screamed.
“I’m sorry. I wasn’t thinking straight. My father thought that it would be best for the pack and the others agreed, so we went to there the moment we knew she crossed the border. We knew.. We knew that was where you would send her. She was supposed to leave before you arrived. I’m so sorry,” Kevin cried as Damien drew closer, reaching out for him and grasping his neck.
“I should kill you right here and now. But the only reason you aren’t dead right now is because of my Luna. She asked me to not kill any of you. So I won’t, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t make your life a living hell,” Damien screamed, increasing the pressure on his neck.
“Bring his father her now, bring his whole family. We will punish them for his crime. Get this swine outside of slight before I change my mind,” Damien ordered, before releasing the man. The man choked on his new found breath, coughing as air entered her lungs.
“Please, I’m sorry, I will do anything. Please, just don’t hurt my family,” Kevin plead as the door opened. The guards entered and dragged him away, screaming, pleading.
