Getting to Know Another

Waverly's POV

The day had finally come to an end. I was standing at my locker waiting for Keaton to finish usinng the bathroom so that we could go home. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to see Kaden standing in front of me.

I wanted to throw my arms around him and kiss him till I needed air. I fought the urge and said, "Kaden, what can I do for you?"

Kaden smiles which showsoff one his dimples, " I was gonna see if you needed a ride home so that we could talk."

I was about to answer till I heard Keaton from behind me say, " She has a ride home."

Kaden bow his head and moved to walk away. I place my hand on his arm to stop him, " Wait one second."

I mindlink Keaton, 'I know Uncle wants you to keep him away from me but Kea he is my mate. I will have him drop me off at the gate and you can meet us there.'

Keaton nods and grunts. I look back at Kaden, " You can give me a ride."

Kaden offers me his arm but I decline it. I follow him to his vehicle and I could feel people starring at me. I look over when I hear a sound of a motorcycle start. I see Dean looking at me and I give him a small wave before he drives away. I look over and see that Kaden has the passenger door open for me. I slide into the seat then he closes the door. I take a gulp of air as he slips into his own seat then starts the car.

I am sitting this close to my mate and all I wanna do is straddle his lap and kiss him and mostly likely peel his clothes off with my teeth.

Kaden looks over at me, " You can relax Waverly, I am not gonna take advantage of you."

I snicker a little, "That is not what I have heard from every female in the locker room. Word is that you jump every girl that is in arms range."

Kaden shakes his head, " That was the old me. It is different with you."

I scoff loudly, " Why becuse I am your mate? A royal? Or not your type?"

He grips the steering wheel tighter, " You are most defintely my type. You being a royal doesn't mean anything. Yes, it is because you are my mate. You are my equal."

I look out the window, " You said you wanted to talk."

I feel him glance at me real quick then he answers, " I know I am not what you pictured as a mate but I want you to get to know the real me. I want us to get to know each other before we commit to the ritual."

I smile to myself and say, " I would like that as well. I would like that a lot."

Kaden pulls in fornt of the pack land gate and parks. I look out the window to see Keaton and Thorn both standing by the gate. I huff, "Oh yay."

Kaden looks out my window to see them as well. Within a blink of an eye, Kaden is out of the vehicle and is openning my door. I smile as I stand, " Would you like to meet my Uncle?"

I watch as he gulps then nods. I grab his hand and lead him to the two main males in my life, "Keaton and Uncle Thorn, allow me the pleasure of meeting MY mate, Kaden Stanosa."

Kaden quickly drops down to his knees, " Your Majesty, it is my undying pleasure to meet you."

My Uncle walks to me and kisses my cheek then looks down at Kaden who is still on his knees. I give my Uncle a pouty look that I know will weaken him. He gives me a wicked smile, "Kaden Stanosa, you may rise."

Kade stands up slowly but keeps his head down. Uncle Thorn gives me another smile but Keaton says, "Boy lift that head you aint in any trouble."

I watch as Thorn places a kiss on Keaton's cheek then says, " Now love, Kaden is what your nephew of sorts?"

Keaton gives Thorn an evil smile, " Yes he is. Kaden you can leave your car here and follow us."

I give Keaton and my Uncle a confused look but they don't answer instead my mother who creeped up on us answers, " It is okay Waverly. He has been invited to dinner."

Kaden once again falls down to his knees when he sees my mother. My mother laughs, "Well he has manners. Kaden, please stop with all the bowing. Follow us my loves."

Kaden stands again then nods. I lace my hand through his as we follow behind them. I whisper, "I am so sorry for how they are acting."

Kade squeezes my hand a little, " It is okay. Should I be worried about dinner?"

I smile, " With them three, anything is possible."

Dean's POV

I drove home trying to calm myself down. Seeing Waverly fit into my brother and father's plan so easily had set off a rage inside of me. I parked my bike in the garage and head into the house.

I made my way to the kitchen to find something to eat and saw my mother sitting at the counter. She smiled when she saw me, " Hey baby, how was school?'

I grab an apple off the counter and sit in front of her, " It was okay. Where is is Kaden?"

She looks up at me, " He will be having dinner with his mate, Princess Dawn, the Consort, and the King."

I nod. Of course he is. My father walks in and places his hand on my shoulder, " Dean did you hear? Your brother is dining with the King."

I want so badly to give him a smartass answer but I know that would result in some type of punishment.

So instead I say, " Mother has told me. It seems like Princess Waverly has fallen for his charm after all."

My dad steps away, " Yes it seems so. Hopefully they go through with the mating ritual and then Kaden will be Prince Consort and will be next in line for the Crown to be King."

My mother looks at my father, " You mean King Consort? Princess Waverly will take the Crown and will be our true leader."

My father gives her a stern look and she looks down in shame. I stand up from my chair and leave the kitchen and head to my room.

I close my bedroom door and let a long sigh. I hope and pray to the Goddess that they don't go through with the ritual.

Kaden will destory Waverly and all of our kind.

Kaden's POV

I was seated next to Waverly and across from Keaton who was smiling like he won a million dollars. Even a million dollars would be like a penny to the Royals. I smile back at him and Keaton whistles, " Oh Thorny he has dimples too."

Thorn chokes on his wine a little then gives Keaton a scolding look which makes Keaton blow him a kiss.

Waverly places her hand on my thigh and whispers, " if you want to leave at any time you can."

I place my hand on hers, " I am fine."

Princess Dawn finally sits down next to Keaton and says, " Now Keaton don't scare Kaden. He isn't use to your humor."

I would have responded but our food is placed in front of us. I watch as they all bow their head and say grace to the Goddess before they eat. I slowly eat the ribeye in front of me and listen as Keaton tells everyone about his first day at school.

Thorn laughs as Keaton tells him how he accidentally walked into the girls bathroom. Waverly asks, " I still don't know how they let you off with a slap on the wrist."

Keaton rolls his eyes, " The principal threatened to spank me. I told him if he did that then Thorn would be mad that some one had taken his job from him."

I started to choke on the piece of steak in my mouth when Keaton said that. I took a sip of water to ease it down. The King looked at me and said, " Kaden I apologize for my mate. When we have company he feels the need to over share things."

I smile, " It is okay Majesty. "

Waverly smiles at me and says, " Well thank you for dinner and a strange conversation but I want to show Kaden the Goddess Gardens."

I swallow the last piece of my steak and bow my head to everyone before I follow her out.

Once we are outside of the dining room Waverly laces her hand through mine again and pulls me to a side door that leads us outside.

She pulls me to the garden and when we enter it I am amazed at what I see. Black Moon Roses. They rarely grow anywhere but here. They are considered a blessing from the Goddess. Waverly pulls me deeper into the garden and we stop in front a fountain with an inscription written at the bottom.

I was about to bend down and read it when Waverly said, " It reads, ' In memory of our beloved Luna Charlene and Alpha Killian who gave there lives for each other. May their love flow through the pack and let it guide us.' You know their story right?"

I sigh, " I was told that the Luna gave herself up for her brother and then gave her life for the safety of her pack."

Waverly steps closer to me, " What was not told was that my Great Grandmother and Great Grandfather had tied their lives together. My Great Grandfather Killian and Grandpa Sean were to late, they arrived in time to see her bleed to death. Grandpa Sean told me that Grandma Charlie had enough life in her to look at her true love before she died and that Grandpa Killian had enough time to hold her before he joined her in the afterlife. Their love brought packs together and helped bring in peace."

I look down at her because I know she wants that type of love. A love I will never be able to give her. I move closer to her and pull her in my arms placing a kiss on her forhead. She wraps her arms around my neck, " I like how it feels being in your arms."

I kiss her cheek, " I like having you in my arms."

I kiss her lips and hear her moan. I would have gone further but I hear some one clear there throat which is when I step away from her.

We both look to see who coughed and Waverly runs to some unkown male who she hugs. Waverly pulls the male towards me, " Kaden this is my Grandpa Sean. "

I go to bow but Sean says, " There is no need to bow. My son is the King not me."

He extends his hand for a shake and I oblige him. Sean sizes me up, " So you are Wavey's mate? It is nice to meet you. I hear you are Alpha's Kennedy's eldest."

I answer, " Yes sir. I am only the eldest by two minutes."

Sean nods, " You are to be the next Alpha."

I answer again, " That is the plan. My twin brother, Dean, is to inherit our father's place as Elder when he retires. Even though I think Dean would make a better Alpha."

Sean laughs at that, " I thought the same thing when my Father passed away with my mother. I thought Kale or Parker, or hell even Jewel would make a better Alpha than I. Then I remembered what my Father taught me."

Waverly asks, " What did he tell you?"

I watch as he smiles down at her, " He and Ma would tell me that as long as I had my mate and trust myself and I will never fail."

I wanted to laugh at that. I was raised to believe you only needed yourself and no one else. I smile at Waverly, " Well now that I have found my mate then I too shall never fail."

Sean smiles at us both and says, " Well now that I have offically met you I can assure myself and my mate that she will be in good hands."

I watch as he kisses Waverly's head one last time then walks to the other end of the garden. Waverly stands in front of me, " I am so sorry for how my family keeps popping up to meet you."

I laugh, " It is fine, they all want to meet me because I am your mate. My family would do the samething. Speaking of my family, since I had dinner with yours tonight why don't you come over tomorrow and have dinner with us?'

Waverly smiles at me so innocently, " I would love too."

I follow her out of the garden and head to my car. I kiss her cheek before I get in my vehicle and take off towards home.

I laugh out loud and say, " Making her fall for me will be like taking candy from a baby."
