I looked at the ceiling of my room wondering what exactly I had done to deserve all the misfortune in my life. I could not put it past Ryker to reject me and to fully bond with Luke. Ever since I had known him, his full focus had been just helping in the fulfilment of the prophecy. He had failed twice and he was taking no chances this time round. Bonding with Max would ensure they were even more in tune with each other which made perfect sense. This was not a situation that I could talk him out off or try to tell him to choose me. Luke had already faced one rejection another was not going to do him any good.
