Rogue Heart 2

Calliope waters the plant one by one in the garden they had and smile. Aside from her hobby to teach the orphan pups at the daycare center, she also likes to collect and take care of flowers and plants. She actually wanted to have a shop one day. "Cali, can I ask you to take these to your father?" Alondra said. Calliope put the watering can on the ground and fixed her clothes before taking the lunch box her mother prepared. "Is father in the packhouse?" Calliope asked. Alondra let out a sigh and massage her temple. "He is. Rogues were spotted yesterday and today too that's why he's got a lot of work to do," Alondra answered her daughter. Being a small pack, rogue attacks are quite threatening. Lack of manpower may lead to the pack's downfall that's why her husband - Jaime, and Alpha Rodel were doing what's best that they could do to strengthen the power of the warriors. "Alright, Mom. I'll go," Calliope said. She went out of the house and began walking. The packhouse was located near their house so it wasn't hard for Calliope. When she arrived, she pressed the doorbell and waited. It opened and the one peeking inside was the Alpha's youngest child. "Hello, Jacqueline," Calliope greeted. Jacqueline giggles and tackled her with a hug. She laughed and carried the child in her arms. "Wow, you've gotten so big," Calliope said. "Where's Alpha Rodel, Luna?" she added when she saw the woman standing and looking at them with a smile. "Upstairs, inside his office. Your father's also there with him," the Luna said. "Yes, Mom said so and wanted me to bring his lunch," Calliope said and raised the bag with the lunch box inside. "Alondra's a thoughtful wife. Come inside," Luna said and took her daughter from Calliope. Calliope mumbled her thanks and went upstairs seeing Jay shirtless. "Morning, Cali!" he greeted. Calliope's eyes went wide and quickly averted her gaze somewhere else. "Can you please wear your shirt, Jay?" she begged. Calliope heard Jay laughed while she let out a sigh. Jay was a friend to her. They were the same age and about to find their mages through the elders in the pack wished for them to be fated mates. "Done," Jay said. Calliope turned to him and smiled. "Morning, Jay," she greeted. "Where are you going?" Jay asked while putting his hands in his pockets. Calliope raised the bag once again and Jay nodded. He then knew from the bag what's Calliope's doing in the packhouse. "Then, I'll take you to the office," Jay said. Calliope nodded and followed behind him. The Alpha's office was located in the last room. Jay knocked three times and crossed his hands. "Come in," a baritone voice said. Jay stared at Calliope and turned the knob, slowly opening the door. "I brought visitor for beta Jaime," Jay said jokingly. Calliope peeked and saw her father holding a bunch of papers in his hands. "Hi?" Calliope shyly said. "Cali! Come in," Alpha Rodel said. Calliope sauntered into the office but before that, she muttered her thanks to Jay and stood in front of the Alpha. "What's your business here?" Alpha Rodel asked. "I'm bringing this, Alpha," she said politely and pointed to the bag she was carrying. Alpha Rodel let out a laugh and patted his beta's back. "I see…the lunch box," Alpha Rodel said. "Thank you, Cali," her father said and took the bag from her. "Tell your mother that I might be home late," he added. Calliope nodded her head. She was about to go out when a warrior rushes to the office, panting heavily. "Alpha!" he said with fear in his eyes. Calliope suddenly felt the room became heavy. Her heart was pounding on her chest waiting for the warrior to talk. "Rogues! And there's many of them!" he said. Alpha Rodel stood up from his seat, emitting a loud growl. Jaime grabbed his daughter's arm with worry etched on his face. "Go to your mother! Quick!" he ordered. Calliope nodded and rushed outside. The pack was in chaos when she went out. Calliope ran back to where her house but a man suddenly grabbed her hair. "Where are you going?" the man said the brought fear in Calliope's body. Santi watched as the rogues under him scurried away to get the women of the Moonshine pack. Seth was standing next to him with a grim look on his face. He has dark circles under his eyes like he hadn't slept in ages. "What's the matter with you?" Santi asked Seth. "Why do we have to attack early this morning?" Seth grumbled irritated. "My eyes f*****g hurt because of the f*****g sun," he added and groaned. Vampires do not disappear from being soaked in the sun, it was a pure myth and Seth always scoffs when someone says it to him. They'll only get hurt because of their sensitive skins but they won't die unless their heart was ripped from their body. "Better tell that to Thanatos then. He was the one who said to attack. I'm just following his orders," Santi said and shrugged his shoulders. He heard Seth mumbled incoherent words and disappeared. Santi chuckled, he was having fun teasing Seth. He knew he would sulk when the plan changes. That's why he did not inform him and dragged him to Moonshine pack. A loud howl erupted. Santi stared and saw the wolf - the Moonshine's Alpha walking in his direction while ripping the rogues on his way. "How cute," Santi mumbled nonchalantly and took his shirt off. He could feel his bones cracking and fur sprouting from his body. Santi landed on all fours and looked straight into the Alpha's eyes, challenging him to fight. Seth teleported back to Santi with blood all over his clothes. He cleaned the blood off using the handkerchief he had and glanced at Santi. "Should I end him?" Seth asked. "No, he's mine to fight. Go get the women and control yourself," Santi said as he began walking to meet the Alpha. Seth nodded and teleported out to carry his orders, making sure that the Moonshine pack will never be the same again.
