Chapter 6
Linus actually ended up picking Micah up Sunday for Micah’s parents’ barbecue. His parents lived in Sunland and on a Sunday afternoon the drive wasn’t too bad.
Micah seemed just a little down, which was so unlike his friend Linus worried. In fact, for the last week or so the normally carefree, bubbly Micah had been downright down in the dumps.
He glanced at Micah as he drove down the freeway. “You okay?”
It took a few seconds for Micah to answer, but when he did, he said, “Yeah, why?”
“You just seem to be a little sad this week. Problems at the hospital? Your supervisor?”
Micah smiled and shook his head. “Nah, everything’s good at work.”
“Family issues?” Linus didn’t want to walk into an uncomfortable family situation without at least a little warning.
