Description of characters: Emilia Harper, age twenty five. Birthday is March 6, 1996. She has long blond hair and green eyes. Mateo Logan, age twenty eight. Birthday is November 16,1993. Has has jet black hair and blue eyes. Katherine Logan also known as Kat, she has long black hair and blue eyes. age twenty six. Birthday is September 9, 1995. Lacey Harper, age six. Birthday is June 10, 2015. This book was written and released in April 2021. (Three years earlier) “ hello?” The voice of my best friend Kat answered and I breathed a sigh of relief as I looked around to make sure Blake wasn’t watching me. “ k-Kat I need your help.” I whispered, but loud enough for her to hear. “ what’s wrong Lia? Why are you calling so late?” Kat replied, worry lacing her tone. “ it’s Blake again, he did something bad and you were right, it’s time I left and if you’re still up to it I would like to move to that house you were talking about.” I heard a series of curse coming from Kat and I had to pull the phone away from my ears so she could calm down. “ ok, ok. Where is that piece of s**t husband of yours right now?” She asked and I sighed. “ somewhere in the house I think I’m not sure. I’m hiding in my bathroom so he can’t get to me.” I said as tears started falling from my eyes. “ please Kat I need to leave as soon as possible, he’s getting worse and worse and I just can’t be here anymore. I have lacey to think about and I don’t want him to hurt her, please help me.” I whispered and she finally said yes. “ when do you think he’ll leave?” She asked and I tried my best to think about it. “ oh yes I know, he has this thing tonight with his friends I think it’s poker night and poker night are always on Fridays. If he leaves I’ll give you a call and you can come and get lacey and I before he comes home.” She agreed with me and I hung up the phone. I was trembling as I walked out of the bathroom because I wasn’t sure what mood my husband would be in right now. Thank god lacey is in school and too young to understand what was going on because I wouldn’t know how to tell her that her father is a monster. Right after lacey left for school, Blake started rubbing himself on me saying he’s horny and I’m a good lay. I told him I wasn’t in the mood because I had a headache and instead of being a good husband, he took that as a sign of disrespect and beat the crap out of me. My face is swollen to the point where no one would recognize me and I couldn’t help but cry everytime I look in the mirror. “ oh there you are b***h, get over here.” He demanded and I had no other choice but to obey him. I walked up to him and held my head down so I wouldn’t look at him because if I did, I would probably be dead by now. “ you know what happened is your fault right? If you had just gave me what I wanted none of this would happen.” He scoffed and lift my head up. “ look at you, so f*****g ugly. I don’t even know what I saw in you to marry you. The only thing you have is a good p***y or else I would have left you a long time ago. Now get away from me and go make me something to eat.” He ordered and I limped away from him. He almost broke my foot but thank god his phone rang before he could. After preparing something for him to eat, I took some for myself and started eating as well but he saw what I was doing and got mad. “ what the hell are you doing you w***e? Don’t you know by now that you aren’t allowed to eat anything from this house!?” He shouted and took up my plate so he could get rid of my food. “ don’t ever eat in this house again or you’ll be dead next time.” I shivered from fear and nodded my head to let him know that it won’t happen again. He looked at me with disgust and punched me before walking away. It’s now 7pm and Blake had just left which gave me enough time to pack and get out of there with lacey. Kat was here to take us to Ohio where she’s from. She had a house there and links that could keep me safe so why not? It’s a long drive from where I live but I was prepared for it. I gave Kat enough money for gas and made sure I had something for us to eat especially my daughter. (Present time) Now here I am, living in bexley a city in Ohio for three years. My daughter is now six years old with a hell of a mouth I tell you. She’s always protecting me and making sure I was ok especially from my neighbors. If I had known I was going to jump out of hell and jump right back in, I would have never come here in the first place. Now I have a black hair, blue eyes stranger after me and calling me his old lady a name I’m not even sure of. He’s been following me around and asking me if I was ok, if he’s not there he would send one of his men to watch me which can be very annoying. Turns out Mateo Logan is the brother of my best friend Katherine Logan and the link she was telling me about. He’s tall, around 6’3 with muscles going on for miles. He has a motorcycle club right next to where I live now with Kat and that gave him an advantage. He would come over almost everyday with an excuse of visiting Kat, then cornering me and letting me know that I was his and no one else is going to tell him twice. The problem I have? Is that I have a huge crush on him but I can’t act out on that because I’m still married. I have to find a way to get a divorce and leave Blake before I can do anything with Mateo. I don’t even know if I want to, but lacey likes him and she even calls him dad even though I told her not to. Why is life so cruel to me?
