Mason slumped down on the sofa in Otho’s living room. He stared at the lights in the Christmas tree, blinking when they began to blur. “Gods, I’m exhausted.” The trip to Northfield had taken most of the day. The bank had been open, and he now had a new bank account and had been removed from the joint account he’d had with Joel. It was silly, but just knowing no one had access to the account made it a little easier to breathe despite the balance being zero. As soon as the holidays were over and he knew where he’d be living, he’d have to change his address.
