They slowly made their way through the woods. Kelsi was holding on to Aki’s arm for support as she hobbled along. Aki made sure to choose a more flat and even path so that it would be less difficult for her.
“How are you holding up?” he asked after a while.
“I’m fine. It doesn’t hurt that much, actually,” she answered. “Just a little bit sore.”
“Were almost there,” he said reassuringly as she helped her down a small elevation.
“How do you know? How do you memorize this place, anyway? It’s so extensive and everything looks the same... and why is the outstation so far away? Couldn’t they just put it somewhere accessible?”
