CHAPTER 9: THE PROPHECY

Lucy’s POV “Kids, I want your whole attention and if you have any doubts, don’t hesitate to ask, ok ?”, I said in my Luna tone but kindly. “Yes Ma’am”, the kids mindlinked. “Boys, where are you right now ? Are you about to reach Diamond Ville ?”, Leena asked worriedly. “Mom, we all are already at home with Sia”, Lee answered. “That’s good. You guys get comfortable first as I am going to tell you about the Great Prophecy”, I said. “Sounds like a dramatic movie opening to me !”, Michael laughed. “Just sit on the couch, Michael, will you ? You are almost pushing me to the edge of the bed”, Sia grumbled. “Guys just shut up, ok ?”, Lee said annoyed.   “Yeah guys, keep it down. The Luna is telling us something important”, Jacob said cockily. I could imagine Jacob smirking at the other end and getting punched playfully by Sia.   After ensuring everyone was comfortable and attentive, I closed my eyes and prayed to the Moon Goddess if I was doing the right thing and then I saw a lotus bloom in front of my eyes as if giving me a signal from the Goddess herself that I was on the right path.   With all fear and insecurities gone I smiled and relaxed the creases on my forehead and spoke, “The former Seer of the Diamond Heart Pack once saw that the packs controlling any of the five elements of the universe would face a common peril which would be the turning point for everybody. It would be a reminder to the supernatural community to keep faith in one another and stay harmoniously together as everything that happens, happens for a reason.”   I paused and looked around me. Everything and everyone had fallen silent, even in the woods.   I continued, “This may seem a really simple message but relationships are getting complex day by day and pack values are deteriorating at an alarming rate. According to a hundred years old prophecy, the present young generation will go through a great war. A war which shall decide whether the supernatural deserve to exist or will it perish for its own good.”   “An Alpha female with 6 wolves and vampire powers will lead the war against rogue vampires who happen to be half blood and their leader will have exactly the same powers as the Alpha female. However, the Rogue Vampire King can only win this war if he is able to kill all the mates of the Alpha female and destroy the spell of the Blue Opal”, I started to narrate.   We heard a sudden gasp.   “That’s Jace’s pearl !”, Jacob uttered in shock.   “Yes and no one knows the real reason for protecting this pearl nor about its powers as the prophecy has to be guarded by the Diamond Heart Pack while the pearl stays in the protection of the Ocean Spirit Pack.” I answered.   “So not everyone knows about the prophecy ? How will the packs protect themselves if they are not prepared for the impending disaster ?”, Sia asked bewildered.    “The prophecy shall be revealed when the time comes by someone outside our pack. Anyone from our pack who tries to tell the prophecy to any outsider shall turn into a stone and only when the Rouge Vampire King is vanquished, shall the curse be released”, Leena said.   “So has anyone turned into a stone due to this ?”, Michael asked.   “No but we doubt that there is something up with the former Luna of the Moon Shine Pack who was originally from the Ocean Spirit Pack and then the Crystal Blood Pack before she joined the present pack”, I said. “You see she was a firm believer of the mate bond and even persuaded your dads to give up their player ways and wait for their mates before they went to Asheville.” I said.   “Yes that’s right and the weirdest thing is that the packs never fought even a single war to keep the Luna from going to the other pack. But we do realize that there is a bigger picture to this and there must be a reason for which everything has been kept under the wraps till now”, Leena said.   “So what is the present hierarchy of the offsprings then ?”, Niyah asked while raising one of her eyebrows.   “All we know is that none of the offsprings have adulterated blood, if you know what I mean”, Leena answered.   “You mean that she never got pregnant inspite of having three mates and if she is not the mother, then who are the mothers of the former Alphas’ kids ?”, Lee asked incredulously.   “Lee, we only said that the blood was unadulterated. We have no idea about the parentage of their kids but other then the fact that the former Alpha and Luna of the Silver Bow pack were killed in a war against the Moon Shine Pack when they were just harmless visitors to their friend’s territory was surely disturbing news for all the packs. No outsider pack was allowed to investigate and soon the matter died down. Rumour has it that they stumbled upon a secret of the Moon Shine Pack and died in the process”, I said.   “But these incidents are related to the Great Prophecy as none of the pack members of the Silver Bow pack retaliated and have continued trading with each other”, Leena said.   “You mentioned something about the Rouge Vampire King having similar powers as the Alpha female. What are they ?”, Niyah asked curiously.   “Both shall have 6 wolves each and vampire powers of similar strength”, I replied in a matter of fact voice.   “Aunt Stone, why are you telling us all this ?”, Michael pointed out.   “That’s right what does this have to do with us ?”, Lee asked.
