CRYSTAL
It's been 2 weeks since Brooks and I made love by the lake. Since then I have felt a closer connection to him than I had before. I was able to find a doctor who took my insurance and I made an appointment. We will get to see how baby sea monkey is doing next week. Brooks and I decided last night that after the doctor's appointment, we are going to invite both sets of parents and Jonah over and do a pregnancy announcement dinner. Brooks has been working his butt off at the shop. He is wanting to go ahead and start putting money back. He added some things to the store that he believes will do well in sales. I talked to the daycare and I begin work in 2 months. I went ahead and told them about being pregnant so there wouldn't be any issues later on with me calling out for doctor's appointments or if I am feeling bad and can't go in that day. I am excited and nervous to start working but the daycare is going to be good practice for me since I will be around small babies and small kids. Since Brooks is at work I figured I would go get something to cook us for dinner. After going to the grocery store I put everything in the fridge and went and sat out back on the porch. I was still sitting out on the porch when Brooks came home. He came out the back door and asked if I was ok. I told him I was fine and I was just sitting out here enjoying the weather. He asked if I wanted him to cook dinner and I shook my head and told him I wanted to cook together. We headed inside and took out what we needed to make salads and Brooks cooked some chicken on the grill to go in them. When the chicken was done, I set the table and made up our plates, and got the dressing out of the fridge. I went back and got our glasses and set the sweet tea on the table for Brooks. I made myself a glass of lemon water and waited on Brooks to bring the cut-up chicken to the table. After e ate, Brooks went to take a shower while I sat on the couch and looked for a movie for us to watch. I heard the shower turn off and I got up to go use the bathroom. I made it to our bedroom door when I got a sharp pain. I yelled out and Brooks opened the door and asked if I was alright. I nodded and walked into the bathroom. After I washed my hands I went back into the living room and as I sat down I felt the same pain. I yelled for Brooks and he came running into the living room. I told him something wasn't right and I might need to go to the ER. He slid his shoes on and grabbed a t-shirt and we got in the car. After being checked in at the ER, we waited about an hour, and in that hour, I had another pain. I was called back and after giving a urine sample and having blood drawn, the nurse came back in with an IV. I asked what was wrong and she told me I was showing signs of dehydration. She hooked me up to the IV and explained that the pain I was feeling was from being slightly dehydrated and it was common in pregnancies. I ended up needing a bag and a half of fluids and they checked on the baby. We were told the baby seemed to be healthy and I found out that I was around 16 weeks maybe a week or two off but at my Obgyn appointment, they would give me a better estimate on how far along I actually am. We did get to hear the baby's heartbeat while we were there. When we left the hospital, Brooks stopped at the store and bought me some Pedalite and popsicles. When we got home, Brooks helped me inside and took me straight to the bedroom. He helped me get into bed and told me to stay put and that he would get whatever I needed for the next 2 days. I told him he didn't have to miss work but he insisted on taking care of me. I was too tired to argue with him so I just laid back and closed my eyes. When I woke up I looked at my phone and saw it was 8 a.m. I looked over and saw Brooks asleep in a chair by the door. I got up and walked over to him and woke him up. I told him to go lay down in the bed and that I would come back to bed as soon as I used the bathroom. When I came back out, Brooks was snoring and was sprawled out across the bed. I laughed and decided to let him sleep so I went and laid down on the couch. I dozed off and when I got up, Brooks was in the kitchen doing the dishes. I asked him why he was in bed and he told me it was 2 P.M. and he slept long enough. I looked at my phone and saw he was right. Brooks brought me a glass of water and some soup and sat there until I finished eating. He took the dishes into the kitchen and washed them. When he finished he came and sat down next to me and placed his hand on my stomach. He leaned down and told the baby that he loved him or her and was going to do whatever he could to make sure his or her mommy stayed hydrated and stress-free. I ran my fingers through his hair and smiled. We sat there and talked for a little while before Brooks got a phone call from his friend at the shop. I asked if everything was ok at the shop and he nodded. He told me a customer came in and ordered a bunch of stuff and they made a good profit from it. He asked what I felt like for dinner and I told him I was craving wings. He laughed and said he would place an order and get me a salad to go with it. I thanked him and laid back down. About 45 minutes later, The doorbell rang and Brooks got up to get the food. He came in and took the food back to the kitchen and put it on a plate for me and brought it to me. We sat there and watched TV and ate.
