We didn’t wake up until noon the next day. The sun had started peeking out from behind the horizon when we finally reached the point where neither of us could go on. Sunny collapsed on my chest after riding me hard. I didn’t even have the energy to pull out before I fell asleep.
When I woke, Sunny was riding me gently again. I stretched a bit, then put my hands on her legs, massaging them. She smiled down at me.
“You’re awake.”
“How could I sleep through an angel riding my c**k first thing in the morning?” I asked.
“It’s noon. No angels here. Only dirty rogues.” She giggled.
“Good, then I don’t have to worry about offending the goddess when I make you scream.” I growled and pushed up rolling her backward.
She squealed as her head and shoulders went off the end of the bed. I held her hips firmly in my hands and f****d her mercilessly. After cumming so much last night, it took a lot longer than I thought it would. Sunny’s body clenched around mine as I stroked in and out of her powerfully.
Like I promised, she did scream. Over and over, she screamed my name and called out for the goddess. The look of ecstasy on her face urged me on. When I finally reached my end. I slammed into her hard and ground myself into her as much as possible. All of my muscles seemed to seize as I emptied myself into her.
I pulled her off the end of the bed and back to rest on my chest. Sunny was perfect. I couldn’t wait to wake up to her like this every morning for the rest of our lives. There was still a lot to do. We’d woken up late, so no work today. I needed to take her shopping and contact Queen Bellamy to let her know Sunny marked me.
Sunny’s stomach growled. I needed to take care of my mate. She was hungry.
“How about we go take a shower and get dressed, then we’ll go into town for lunch and stay until after dinner. There’s not a ton to do, but there are a lot of people who will want to meet you. Sound good?” I asked.
“That would require me being able to walk.” She chuckled into my chest.
“No, I can carry you everywhere. You’re my mate. I’ll take care of you.” I murmured as I rubbed her back.
I got out of bed, holding her tightly to me. If I were a human, this would be pretty damned difficult. Thank the goddess I was blessed with being a rogue wolf. I carried Sunny to the bathroom and set her on the toilet while I ran the shower until the water was hot.
Picking her up again, I carried her into the shower and set her on the ledge there. I’d need to put in a tub before we had pups. This bathroom only had a shower.
Once I had everything we needed, I helped her stand. She should have healed from any actual damage by now, but she seemed content to let me take care of her. I washed her hair carefully, then soaped her body. The feeling of bliss that came with caring for a mate came over me.
Because I still hadn’t marked her, our bond was a little one sided. She wouldn’t experience the same pleasure from taking care of me. I could hear if she mind linked me, but she wouldn’t hear me. She could feel my emotions, but I could only get twinges and wisps of hers. Once I marked her, we’d share everything.
The best part, was that she was mine at this point. A connection drew people together, an offer started growing a bond, an acceptance gave us the same connection as fated mates, and a mark, even a single one, meant a second mark was basically a foregone conclusion. She’d feel even more connected to me.
“We should get dressed and go have lunch.” I told her after rinsing her off and helping her back to the ledge in the shower.
“You don’t want to spend all day in bed with me?” Sunny asked.
“I want that more than anything, but the weather report from a couple days ago said there were several storm systems and we usually don’t have long after the first big snow in December before the second comes. We have wet winters here. This next snow is the one that will ensure the roads are closed until next year. It’s better if we go to town and stock up on fun foods, more clothes for you, and some forms of entertainment we can do outside of the bedroom.” I replied while putting conditioner in my hair. “Plus, we have to make arrangements for you to stay with Kelly during your heat and that may mean talking to someone about coming to get you if the road to town isn’t clear.”
“You know, we don’t have to confine s*x to the bedroom.” She giggled as she reached out and goosed my ass.
“Oh really? I didn’t know that. You’ll have to show me how it works.” I laughed.
“Of course I get an inexperienced mate.” Sunny sighed.
I finished washing up and we dried off before heading back to the room. Sunny had her hair wrapped in a towel that looked like it was trying to tip off her head. I didn’t have a hair dryer and she said she hadn’t really intended to be going out during the weekend she was here, so she didn’t bring hers. It went on the list.
We got dressed. Sunny wore jeans with three layers of shirts. She fully intended on wearing her thin jacket with it. I didn’t like it, but there weren’t many options.
Werewolves didn’t get cold as easily as humans, but even a wolf could freeze to death in the right conditions. We weren’t covered in fur when in our human form, so it didn’t really help.
Once we were ready, we went to the truck. It would take a little while to warm up, but that gave me a chance to scrape the windows, which I hadn’t done last night. I’d park it in the carport when we got home. Normally, I didn’t mind it taking a while before I had to leave, but I wanted to get Sunny’s things as soon as possible.
When the truck was warm and the windows clear, we headed into town. The temperature hadn’t really risen much, but it was warm enough that the water on the roads hadn’t turned to ice. They would’ve had treatment trucks out earlier in the morning to spray the roads in town, but they didn’t really leave the city limits.
Sunny looked out the window as we drove. She wore a tiny smile as the scenery passed us. I couldn’t help but feel peaceful and content.
I drove through town, to the fast food place on the other end. It wasn’t a big corporate thing, just a little mom and pop burger joint. The owner, Rob, made this massive double bacon double cheese burger that could almost fill me up. I only ever needed two and a large fry to feel full.
We parked and went in. Sunny looked over the menu, which was limited because of the season. No food deliveries for the next few weeks would cause most of the places that sold food to close for a bit.
After getting our food and drinks, we sat at a table. Sunny had been impressed by Rob’s daughter, Polly, who was thirteen and working the register. She’d been the cashier on school breaks and weekends for the last year, with a couple older teens. Rob thought it was a great way to teach her how to run the place and take care of it. She’d start with the work everyone else did, then learn management as she got older.
Most kids graduated high school and left town. A few stayed, but not a lot. They wanted more than the small town life. I was betting Queen Bellamy had plans for the town, since she’d been asking me a lot of questions about it.
“Earth to Vaughn.” Sunny giggled.
“Sorry, got in my head a little.”
“No problem. I was just wondering more about your family. You told me you have a brother and both your parents are alive. Tell me more.” She insisted as she munched on a fry.
“Don’t really know what to tell. My parents have been together for about twenty-nine years. My brother and I are twins. He’s been mated and married since he a couple weeks after our eighteenth birthday. So, ten years. His mate, Diane is a great girl, very smart and funny. I think you’d like her.” I said.
“Are your parents rogue born or pack born?”
“My dad’s rogue born and my mom’s pack born. She doesn’t miss it, though. Mom said she’s never felt as free as she felt when she accepted my father’s offer.”
“Accepted his offer? Why didn’t she feel free before that?”
“Mom was an obsessed ex-pack for about six months after she was banished. Dad gave her a couple months before they marked each other. She learned what it was to be a rogue and loved it. They may not have been fated mates, but I think the goddess led my mom to my dad.” I smiled.
I told Sunny the whole story about how they met while she ate her lunch. Her eyes sparkled and she had a dreamy expression. She was definitely as much of a romantic as I was.
“I would love to draw that. It’s so romantic. Just when she needed him most, her angel appeared. Vaughn, that’s the sort of story that you should be writing.” She sighed.
“More than anything, I’d love to write it. Maybe I could write a collection of stories about how rogues met their mates. There are a lot of stories out there. Like that Derrick Travers guy. I wonder how his story will end. And Queen Bellamy and Alpha Lucien. I don’t even know more than what the website said. How did they meet? All it says there is that they marked each other last year, but what’s the real story?” I wondered.
“Most of the collective, at least the ones who live near Lune Rouge, can tell you. Her friend, Dillon, is a gossip and once everything was all settled, he pretty much told anyone who would listen.” Sunny laughed.
“I didn’t meet Dillon, only her cousin, her mate, and the bear Urso.”
“Dillon was the one who asked about your throat game. His mate is Richard’s twin brother. This is a bit of a big story, though, maybe it should wait.”
“Give me the short and dirty of it.”
Sunny went on to describe Queen Bellamy saving Alpha Lucien from vampires, her wolf offering for him and his wolf accepting without telling either of their human sides, and how they came to find out Bellamy’s parents had come from Lune Rouge and her mother was Alpha Lucien’s first fated mate. She told me about the attempts on the lives of everyone the Alpha loved, including Queen Bellamy and their first set of pups, and a rogue King who had called for a cor acie triplici, a battle to the death for a chosen mate.
It was no wonder they were so in love, he’d killed another Alpha for her. He set aside his feelings about the woman who rejected him and loved her daughter. It was weird, but not outside the realm of acceptability for werewolves. He was old enough to be her father, but he wasn’t her father.
For rogues, age gaps weren’t a big deal. Some males didn’t want to settle down until they were much older. Females could be like that, too. They would decide early that they wanted to adopt stray pups when they got older. It wasn’t really rare to find orphaned rogue pups.
“Wow. I want to write that story. I wonder if she’d let me.”
“I wouldn’t risk asking. She might take offense.” Sunny warned.
“You’re right. Maybe I can make up my own story using the bones of hers…. No, that seems like a pretty deadly idea, too. I’ll see if she has any suggestions about rogue romances I could use as a frame work for other stories. Now that I have my muse, I find myself with the urge to branch out in my writing.”
“Sounds like fun. I’ll help. You just about done?” She asked.
I was pretty stuffed. Definitely time to walk off some of that food in town. I nodded to her and we cleared our spot before we headed out. It was time to get some shopping done and I couldn’t wait to show Sunny off some more.
