Building you up

Chapter 9

Chapter 9Skylar’s pov

I woke up bright and early to go for a run before work. I could barely sleep knowing that only a wall separated Tia and me. It was weird how just the thought of her made my heart race.

Once I was almost done with my jog, I stopped by the donut shop to grab Tia some breakfast. This way I will have an excuse to see her. I hurried back to the house and took a quick shower. I wanted to spend as much time with her as I can.

I got this huge job that was going to take up all of my time now. I was building apartments and a safe house for one of Tia’s friend’s boss. Derek seemed like a nice guy. I wondered if Layla would tell me any story’s about how Tia was in high school.

Once I was dressed for work, I hurried over to give Tia the breakfast I bought her. I knocked hoping that she was already up. When she opened the door, I had to remind myself to breathe. Man was she sexy.

“Good morning beautiful I thought I would drop you off some breakfast before I head in to work.”

“Well this is a nice surprise you want to come in for some coffee before you go?”

“I’d love to. So how did you sleep? How’s Deacon doing?”

“I slept really good thank you. Deacon did really well through the night. I love that you put an extra crib in my room. I don’t think I would have slept if he wasn’t close.”

“Well anything I can do to help you let me know.”

“You have done so much Skylar thank you for everything.”

I kissed her on the cheek, and she smiled at me.

“I love helping you. Like I said you’re not alone anymore.”

I was shocked when she got up from her chair and sat on my lap.

She was driving me crazy, and she didn’t even know it. My heart was trying to jump out of my chest I wanted her so bad. She pulled my face down to hers and kissed me. This wasn’t just any kiss. It was a thank you for all that I had done for her. I put my arms around her not wanting to let her go. We broke apart gasping for air.

“That was amazing.” I said.

“I wish we could stay like this all day.”

“So, do I, but then I would have your friend not liking me too much.”

“Yea true I guess you better get your butt to work.”

I patted her on the butt and gave her another kiss before I had to leave.

“Skylar I would like to fix you supper tonight.”

“Okay what time would you like me to be here?”

“Um can you be here by 6:30?”

“If that’s what time you want then I will be here.”

“Okay have a good day at work, and I will see you tonight.”

As I got in my truck all I could think of was I could get use to this. I could easily see myself coming home every night to Tia and Deacon. Being a family. I never thought that was something I wanted until she walked into my life. Now I was ready for all that she had to offer. I wanted to love her and give her and Deacon the kind of life they deserve.
