CHAPTER SIXThey came within sight of Zararis late in the afternoon. The engines slowed down and Lord Victor realised that they were to wait for the barge which the Ambassador had told them about. When he looked out of the porthole, he could see in the distance two lines of small sailing yachts. They were getting into position so that the barge could pass down between them. There was, however, no sign yet of the barge. It was the Ambassador who suggested that they should all dress early, but Lord Victor had thought it unnecessary.
