Chapter 9: Lies & Breakfast

Khloe's P.O.V. ************************************* I woke up the next morning after getting a great night's sleep. Was my bed always this comfortable? "Khloe, get up." Oh yeah. I was kidnapped last night, and agreed to be in charge of a fu.cking mafia. It's sad how casual I can be with my life. Have I really been through that much? Enough that nothing phases me anymore? No. Everyone just overestimates my willingness to live. Although, I guess I have to now. If I die, they'll just go after Claire and Emmet. I have to make sure I do this, and do it right. When I get put in charge… When Jan dies… Maybe I can pass all of this over to someone else. "Khloe." Andrzej grumpy voice gritted out. "Ughhhhh." I groaned as I rolled over in bed. I pulled the blankets over my head. I just want a little more sleep. Can't they go easy on me? "Hiding will not save you from this boogie man, myszko." Andrzej said. I peeked my head out from the comforter. "Must you be a jerk first thing in the morning?" I asked. Andrzej just stared at me. Those deep blue eyes burning a hole in my skull. "If you weren't naked under there I would have ripped the sheets from you." He stated. "I'm surprised you didn't anyway," I mumbled. "Don't test-" "Do it then." I interrupted him. Andrzej scoffed. "Go on. Do it." I said. Andrzej's eyes hardened. I tried desperately not to smirk or laugh. I watched as he grabbed a handful of the blankets. Andrzej waited, giving me a chance to take back what I said. When I didn't make a sound, he pulled the blankets off of me. I stretched, and then sat up in bed. Andrzej gave me a bored look as he looked down at my clothed body. "You look disappointed." I teased. "Szymon." He muttered. "Apparently, the only nice one out of all of you," I said. "Whatever." Andrzej grumbled. "I left your clothes on the couch. Jan is waiting to have breakfast with you. Make it quick." He ordered. "Yes sir," I replied. I trudged to the living area. There is a pile of clothes neatly folded on the couch. I scooped them up, and noticed Szymon sitting at the small table in the kitchen area. "Good morning Szymon. Thank you for lending me some clothes last night." I told him. "Nie ma za co." he replied. (You're welcome.) I beamed at him. "Hey, I know that one!" I said happily. Ahem. Andrzej said. I rolled my eyes. "I have to go get dressed." I told Szymon. Szymon gave me a nod, but didn't make any reaction to get up. I frowned at him. When he looked back up at me, he mirrored my confused expression. "Something wrong, serce?" He asked. (Heart) Serce? "Uh, don't you have to come with me?" I asked. Szymon's confused expression deepened. "Do you not know how to dress?" He asked. "But…" I trailed off. "Pierdolony Kacper." Andrzej muttered. Then he stormed out of the room, slamming the door shut behind him. Well, he's got that right. Fu.cking Kacper. That irritating bas.tard. "He really just wanted to get a peek at me that badly." I muttered under my breath. Then I turned to Szymon. "You're the only one that's nice in this place. Fu.cking dupek's. All of them," I stated. Szymon raised a brow at me. I can tell that he's confused. And he can stay that way for all I care. I went to the bathroom, and angrily got dressed. At least these a.ssholes got me something cute. Are these designer jeans? I haven't even bought myself designer jeans before. This light blue sweater is so soft. I wonder if it's expensive too. It feels like it is. Of course, I ditched the panties and bra that were left for me. I'm not sure why I dislike underwear. It feels so restricting. Bras are just flat out uncomfortable. Besides, my boobs aren't that big, I don't need a bra. I ran my fingers through my hair trying to tame it. I searched all the drawers, and thankfully found one single hair tie. I threw my hair up in a messy bun on top of my head. Wow, I don't look half bad for someone who was kidnapped last night. I blew out a breath as I walked to the bathroom door. This is my life now. I might as well get used to it. Once I open this door, it's tough Khloe forever. Not that I've ever thought about dropping my tough act anyway. It's what gets me through my everyday life. Well, here goes nothing. I walked out of the bathroom, and into the kitchen area. Szymon is gone, but Andrej is sitting in a chair looking as bored as ever. When I walked into the room, his eyes snapped up at me. Andrzej looked me up and down slowly. I raised a brow at him. "Wiedzialam, ze ten kolor bedzie na Tobie dobrze wygladac." He mumbled (I knew that color would look good on you.) What the hell did he just say? "Come," Andrzej ordered as he stood up. "Jan is waiting for you." Then he marched straight for the door. Without even looking at me. I wonder how long it would take him to notice if I didn't follow him at all. "Come on myszko!" Andrzej called out. Not long, I guess. I sighed, and followed Andrzej into the hallway. He led me down the hallway, down to the area I was trying to look at last night. "Where are Szymon and Kacper?" I asked. "Is that any of your concern?" Andrzej asked me. I frowned at the back of his head. "Yeah, it is. First of all, you all work for me. So if I ever want to know where one of you is, then you'll tell me," I stated. Andrzej stopped. He turned around to face me with his eyebrow raised. I gave him a defiant look. "And secondly," I said. "I have some words for Kacper." I gritted out. "That stupid dupek. I swear I'm going to end up breaking his nose. You had better tell your friend to calm himself." Both of Andrzej's eyebrows shot up. He shook his head at me. Then, completely ignoring me, he walked down the hall. I crossed my arms, and walked behind him. After a few minutes, Andrzej stopped. He knocked on a door before walking right in. Inside the room, sits Jan, Szymon, Kacper, and a few other men that I don't know or recognize. "Dzien dobry kotku." Jan greeted me brightly. (Good morning little cat.) I walked into the room, and sat down next to him. "Dzien dobry wujek." I replied. (Good morning uncle.) I looked around the room again. "Are there no women around here?" I muttered. Jan laughed loudly. "Women usually shy away from this lifestyle, kotku. You won't see many of them around. However, when we return home you will see some. Many of the house workers are women, along with my favorite feisty girl. Well, now my second favorite." He told me with a wink. I smiled at him until I heard someone scoff. I looked over to see Kacper roll his eyes. Andrzej looks like he's the one that scoffed. Even Szymon looks annoyed. Wow, they must either hate that girl or hate me. "Don't mind them. Zofia is hard to get along with. She's fiercely loyal to me, and takes joy in annoying my men. She also complained about there not being enough women around. I think she will really like you." He told me. I beamed. Great! I might actually have a friend in this place. Someone I can actually trust. Yay for girl power! "Annoying us is an understatement, szef." Kacper commented. "The woman makes my skin crawl, and I love all women." I rolled my eyes as I started to pick at the food on my plate. "Kacper, you must learn to get along. Zofia is only testing all of you." Jan told him. "Yeah, don't be so sensitive." I chimed in. Now, I know I have no right to say anything. I mean, I don't even know this girl or what she does to them. I just really want to get on her level. I'd love to make Kacper's skin fu.cking crawl. "Sensitive?" Kacper asked with a smirk. "Pokaze ci wrazliwosc dziecko." (I'll show you sensitive, babe.) I frowned at him. "Kacper." Jan said warningly. "Do not speak about my niece that way." He said dangerously. Kacper gulped. His eyes met mine, and I smirked at him. "I would love it most if you all got along," Jan said. "You boys are like sons to me. You've been working for me since you were very young. This is my dearest niece. You should be getting along like family." "Well, they sure remind me of my family," I muttered. "Lying to me and all." I kept my eyes on Kacper as I said the last part. Realization must have set in, because a smug smile spread across is arrogant se.xy face. That bas.tard knows what he did. "We will try our best to get along szef." Szymon said. All their eyes landed on me. Szymon gave me a very small smile. Kacper winked at me with a stupid smirk on his face. And Andrzej just glared at me. "Oh yeah, we're going to get along great." I muttered. "We would get along better if you weren't so damn mouthy," Andrzej said. I turned my head to glare at him. I opened my mouth, intent on saying something mouthy. However, I didn't get the chance. Jan slammed his fist on the table, causing a loud clatter. I jumped a foot in the air from being surprised. When I looked back at Jan... he was looking furious. "Wystarczajaco!(Enough!)" he shouted. "You will all start getting along this instant! Andrzej, I understand that you are concerned and confused. We discussed this before coming to the states. Get over it, or get the fu.ck out." I looked down at Andrzej. His deep blue eyes are hard, and his jaw is tight. Just when I thought he was going to snap back at my uncle, Jan started to cough. My head snapped in his direction. One of the men standing behind him was quick to come to his side. Jan pulled out a tissue from his suit pocket. He coughed into it while we all watched. "He needs some tea with a lot of honey," I said. The man behind him just looked at me. "Well? What are you waiting for?" I asked. The man jumped into action. He shuffled out of the room as Jan's coughing finally died down. I caught sight of blood in the tissue before he shoved it back in his pocket. "I am alright, kotku. Thank you for your concern." He said as he patted my hand. I'm surprised to find myself slightly panicked. I barely know this man. Yet, I'm still worried. I saw the blood he coughed up. Is there something seriously wrong with my uncle?
