Chapter 6
We spend most of the winter in bed. We make love at least once a day and I’m happy because life is back to the way it used to be. The servants are all wearing their various uniforms now. I can hardly expect nakedness in the depths of winter, even with a roaring fire in most of the rooms.
Eduardo stays in the manor with me, not feeling the need to work outdoors so much, although whether this will change when spring arrives, I can only guess. Apart from constant love-making, we amuse ourselves with reading, games, the odd visitor, and catching up on correspondence. I have many friends in London I’ve been neglecting either because I was in France or with Eduardo, and he has family and friends in Brazil.
