Faye giggled after sending her sweet text message to her dearest father. She could imagine how surprised her father would be after seeing her text.

Nakangiti at masayang nilakad niya ang daan papuntang parking lot kung saan siya ibinaba ng Daddy niya kaninang pagdating at ngayon ngang napagkasunduan nilang pagsusunduan din sa kanya ng ama.

Since her father wasn't that busy with his work these days, and the company wasn't far from her university, as soon as she came to the parking lot, her father might already be there.

Speaking of her father, napapaisip pa rin siya kung papaano niya mapapalipat ng pagtatrabahuhan ang ama.

Hindi pa man kasal ang dad sa mom niya ay doon na nagtatrabaho ang dad niya. Hanggang sa maipanganak siya ay nandoon pa rin ang kanyang ama.

Sa isiping paaalisin niya doon ang daddy niya ay para na rin niyang inalisan ng isang bahagi ng pagkatao ang ama.

She clearly knows how that company is like a son for her father. Dahil nga sa ang kumpanya ay unang inalagaan ng ama. Hindi man close ang ama sa mag-asawa, pero kilala ng mga ito ang isa't isa. At parehong maganda ang trato ng mga ito.

Sadyang ang mga anak lang ang hindi magkasundo.

Napapabuntonghininga na lang siyang napatingin sa selpon nang tumunog iyon. Pinoproblema niya pa nga ang hamon sa kanya ni Daven ay poproblemahin niya rin ang kung paano niya mapapapayag ang ama na umalis na sa kumpanya.

Nang mabasa ang reply ng Daddy niya after ng ilang minuto mula ng magtext siya rito ay isinantabi niya muna ang mga iniisip at nagmadaling tinakbo ang parking lot. Hindi naman siya nahirapang hanapin ang Dad niya dahil sa kotseng lulan ito.

"Daddy!" she called childishly as she ran up to him.

Wala na siyang pakealam sa mga makakakita sa kanya, basta ang gusto niya lang ay ang makalapit na agad sa ama at yakapin ito ng mahigpit.

"I miss you!"

Na ginawa niya naman pagkalapit sa Daddy niya at hinalikan pa ito ng matunog sa pisngi. Naiiling na natawa na lang ang Dad niya sa kanya, sinusubukang masanay sa malaking pagbabago sa turing sa kanya ng anak gaya ng sinabi niya.

"How's your first day?" her dad asked when they were inside the car and before she could excitedly start her story telling for what happened today, her dad added a question while starting the car. "I heard you already had a crush?"

Nanlalaki ang mga matang napatingin lang siya sa Daddy niya na pahapyaw pa siyang tinignan ng may pang-aasar bago binalik ang tingin sa daan.

"The hell? Kaeley already told you!" she asked exaggeratedly.

"Yes, she did. She was so excited for you I think, though she doesn't sound excited when she narrates to us what happened," natatawang sagot naman ng Dad niya.

Hearing that, Faye couldn't stop her pout. Samantalang napangiwi naman siya sa isip dahil naimagine niya sa isip kung paano ikinuwento iyon ni Kaeley sa mga magulang.

"She really did! It should be me telling that to you. Sheez, she really couldn't zip her mouth, eh?" she complained childishly.

Being like this to her dad now, she wasn't shy at all. Actually, she wants to cry while doing so. Asking herself, why did she even didn't do these things before.

Hindi sana madadamay ang mga magulang niya kung noon pa man ay inayos na agad niya ang pakikitungo sa mga ito.

"So you really do have a crush. I'm actually glad to hear that. I thought, my daughter is not normal. Guess you're a normal person now?" pang-aasar na tanong naman sa kanya ng Dad niya na nagpangiti lang sa kanya.

"I am normal! You'll see that, tomorrow and the next day, and so on, I will announce the new name of my crush. Iisa-isahin ko lahat ng handsome sa school!" pagmamalaking sagot naman niya na nagpatawa lang sa ama.

Bahagya rin siyang natawa bago masayang nagkwento sa ama ng mga ilan sa nangyari sa kanya ngayon araw. Ilan dahil ayaw naman niyang ikwento sa ama ang kahihiyan niya lalo na sa ginawa niyang pamimilit kay Kirth sa pangalan nitong pwede namang itanong sa iba.

On the way home, she finished her story telling about the quest on her first day as she and her father continued their happy conversation. Sinigurado naman ni Faye na gagawan niya ng butas ang kwentuhan nilan mag-ama para lang maisingit ang dapat niyang itanong.

And when she thinks, it was time to asked, she acted calmly as she asked a question, "Dad I have a question, did you ever plan on leaving your company?" she said sounding curious, but she acted like her choice of words are wrong, so she added, "I mean, like changing company or creating one yourself? Did you plan to work until you're old to that company Dad?"

Acting like she was just plainly curious, sa totoo lang ay kinakabahan talaga siya dahil baka hindi niya makuha ang gustong sagot mula sa ama.

"Hmm . . . "

Napatingin naman siya sa ama ng marinig ang pag-iisip nito habang inililiko ang kotse papasok sa village na tinitirhan nila.

"Well, actually I also think of that. When I was finally assigned here permanently, it came to my mind. But I still think, I couldn't build one with my still lacking skills. So maybe why not get more experience while trying to save money for it in the future. I am not that old enough to have one, right?" maya-maya rin ay sagot ng ama niya.

Napangiti naman siya sa narinig. Maybe it was also her dad's plan before; she just wasted the time her dad needed and his plan was ruined when she messed everything up. Ang kaninang masayang ngiti ay biglang pumait dahil sa naisip.

She really messed up everything. Fortunately, she had given a second chance to fixed everything. And she promised to really do that.

"That's good Dad! I'll help you then," she finally said to him when they reached their house' parking.

Her Dad stopped from removing his seatbelt and looked at her. Then he nodded and smiled as he patted her head. "Then work harder lady. I will need your help in the future," he said before moving out of the car.

'I will Dad, I will,' she muttered to herself and then also stormed out of the car.

"Let's work harder, Dad!" she energetically exclaimed, once again making her dad laugh.

THE DELICIOUS aroma from four different dishes that were served, was spread on the whole dining room in the early evening. It was a small dining room, enough for a small family of three, with a table for six people and six chairs. The place was in silence but it wasn't awkward. Instead, it was warm and homey as the only sound echoed was the sound of table wares clicking against each other as Faye and her parents ate their dinner.

"So how was your first day Lunez Faye?" a very gentle and feminine voice echoed in the silent room.

Faye stopped her hands in midair as she looks at her mother first, and eagerly answered her question. "It was good mom. I really enjoyed my first day." Then with a smile, she finally put the food on the spoon she was holding.

"That's good to hear then. Narinig ko rin galing kay Kaeley ang kalokohan mo sa school on the first day of school," bigla ay seryosong wika ng ina kaya mabilis siyang napanguso.

Sa isip ay gustong kastiguhin ang pinsan na masyadong masunurin sa bawat utos ng mga magulang. 'Masyado silang sipsip' sa isip-isip niya'y nasabi habang nakangusong nakatingin sa mommy niya.

Naalala niya kasi na kaya pala nalaman agad ng mga magulang niya noon ang tungkol sa kanila ni Daven, ay dahil din mismo sa mga pinsan niya na kinontrata na pala ng mom at dad niya na sasabihin sa mga ito ang mga nangyayari sa kanya sa school.

Noong una naman ay dahil lang iyon sa pag-aalala ng mga magulang niya sa kanya. Pero ang mga taksil niyang pinsan ay kusa na mismong nagbabalita ng mga pangyayari sa kanya sa school sa mga magulang niya.

But when she heard of it before, ay nagalit siya sa mga pinsan at magulang dahil sa pagiging makitid niya noon, pero ngayon ay sisiguraduhin niya na hindi na niya hahayaang maulit pa ang mga iyon.

She might be at fault also, and she couldn't just blame everything to everyone. But she couldn't revenge if there's no one she can blame everything right?

"It was just me being playful mom. And you know me, I don't just have a crush on someone with just a first glance. Not even do I believe in love at first sight," palusot niya na medyo nagpangiwi pa sa kanya.

Spitting those words and specially coming from her own mouth, her lips twitched as she found herself hypocrite and funny.

Dahil iyon na iyon din ang mismong sinabi niya noon sa mga magulang, noong tanungin siya ng mga ito nang tungkol kay Kirth. She disgustingly told them how she fell in love at first sight with Kirth, and how she already likes Kirth in just a one simple glance.

Halos magsitaasan ang balahibo niya nang maalala ang itsura niya nang sabihin niya ang mga nakakasukang salita na iyon sa harap ng mga magulang niya nang may seryoso at determinadong mukha.

Like f*****g hell, she's really crazy and blindly in love with that asshole. Well, she won't now, and will never fall for that jerk, ever again. She will not make the same mistake twice.

"I really hope I do know you Lunez Faye. Well, I just wished you won't let other things became a distraction to your studies. Whatever it will, remember that I will always support you, okay?"

Hearing her mom's sweet and caring words, Faye couldn't help but smile back at her mother.

"You know me mom and if ever there is something you think you still don't know about me then I will let you know."

Although her looks when she said those were with a smile, but her words were serious and she's really determined to make her parents look at her different from what they look at her before.

Matamis namang napangiti ang mommy niya sa narinig bago nagsimula ulit na kumain. Nakangiting yumuko naman siya sa plato niya at nagsimula na ulit kumain.

Before, she thinks that she had the most unfair, uncaring, and unsupportive parents in the world but now she realized that it wasn't her parents which was worst. They're just unfortunate enough to have the worst child, and that was her.

Now with her second chance, she would do her everything to be the best child and daughter to her parents. And she would do it all flawlessly, with any fault and distraction. As it was supposed to be from the start.
