Mirage
My mom came the moment she heard. The ground rumbled with such intensity at how strong the portal Dad opened to get to my room that a lot of the staff thought it was an earthquake.
"Mirage" Mom squeals the moment her head peeked out of the dark portal. She immediately jumps with her arms wide open when her whole body was able to. Her smile was ear to ear and her tears flowing so freely.
"Please, I beg of you. no more" she cries on my shoulder, her strong body, quivering from her tears.
I try to smile but I feel like it's failing "I'm sorry" I rasp out, my voice grating painfully together.
