His Little Pregnant Mate

Chapter : 2. Introduction..

David Grimwald is a 21 years old alpha of The Blue Hounds Pack. He is the most powerful, strong, and handsome alpha anyone has ever seen. Their pack is one of the most feared and respected one, who has made allies with many neighboring packs. Their pack is divided into two parts, the Blood Moon Pack and the Blue Hounds pack.. His father and mother take care of Blue Moon Pack and he is the alpha of Blue Hounds Pack. Just to take care of two packs at the same time, David was announced as an alpha at the age of 18 where usually alpha position is given after they turn 20 and find their Luna to support. But David was an exception. Maybe that is why he made himself so strong as he had to handle a packs responsibility all alone.

Even though he handles the pack perfectly and got his friends Felix and Luke beside as his Beta and Gamma to help, he still feels alone. Werewolves are supposed to find their mate by the age of 18. But it’s been three years, and he hasn’t found his mate yet. He feels empty inside without someone to love. It’s not like no girls wants him. His packs and other neighbouring packs omegas will die to become his mate. But he never looks at any other women and waits for his destined mate to arrive one day patiently. He believes that where ever his mate is, she is also waiting for his love and needs him more than any omega. His mother and father tried to convince him to accept a chosen mate, but he clearly informed them that he will wait till death if needed but he will never accept a chosen mate. His love will only be reserved for his true destined mate.

It was another full moon night which David spent by staring at the moon and wishing to the moon goddess for his mate to arrive. They say that moon goddess gives blessing to every single of her creations on this day. Maybe someday she will give David his blessing as well. He’s been doing this since he became the alpha. Even though he looks tough on outside, he has a very soft spot in his heart for his mate. He has planned on everything about how he will cherish her, how he will comfort her, how he will fulfill all her wishes, where she will stay, what she will wear, what she will eat, how much time he will give her and how he will be ready to do anything for her. Everything.. But sadly, another full moon night passed without no reply from the goddess.

Defeated and sad David finally looked away from the moon as it is now almost invisible in the sky. Taking a deep breath, he once again swallowed the hope of finding his mate. There’s not much time left for the sun to come up, which means there is not much time left for him to sleep. It’s not like he is tired or anything. But still, he went to bed and closed his eye to give them a little rest before starting off another day. But little does he know that there is someone waiting for him right inside his pack borders. He doesn’t know that the moon goddess has granted his wish at last and his blessing is waiting for him to reach.

David’s point of view :-

“David.. David.. wake up..” Just as I closed my eyes to get some sleep, my Beta or my best friend Felix, rushed into my room, without even taking permission.

“I think I made it clear to everyone. Don’t disturb me on full moons. Leave before I bite your head off.” I threatened him without even bothering to open my eyes.

“I know. I should have kept my distance from you if it wasn’t an emergency.” That caught my attention. What kind of emergency appeared at such a time that my Beta can’t even take care of it and had to come to my door. I know Felix way too well. Even though his age is just 19, he has a lot of potential to become a strong beta. But his younger brother Luke, who is now 18, is not that strong yet as a gamma. But I know he will turn out to be as good as his brother.

“What is the emergency?” I sat up on the bed, hoping to hear some serious news.

“There’s a rogue in our borders. The border guard said that they tried to catch it, but it’s too fast. And after chasing it for a while, it vanished somewhere inside our territory.”

“IT?” That’s the first thing that caught my attention.

“We don’t know yet if it’s a male or female. It was too fast to recognise the gender.”

“Couldn’t they track its scent? It’s as simple as that.”

“That is where the trouble is. It dosen’t have a wolf smell.”

“What? How is that possible? No one in this world is scentless. Maybe I have to appoint better guards. Where was it last seen?”

“It was headed towards north.”

“Let’s go and find it then.”

This would be the first time something like this is happening in my pack. There are not many rogues out there. And the ones who don’t want to stay under an alpha's orders never bother to enter a pack border without permission. They know to keep their distance in the sake of their own lives. Then where is this rogue coming from and where did it even go? I quickly grabbed a light shirt and wore it before going out. Anger is running through my vein like fire. How dare is this rogue to invade my territory? And if it’s here for some purpose, why didn’t it approach the guards peacefully and ask for their help? Why did it have to ruin my already bitter mood? I think it’s his final day on earth.

Taking long strides towards the way Felix pointed me, I kept my senses alert. Smelling it to find, is the only option at this moment if it succeeded in hiding from our guards’ sharp eyes. I asked Felix to bring some warriors along, just in case there are more hiding behind with the intention of an attack. It wasn’t long before a sweet fruity smell surrounded all around us. It was so amazing that my feet stopped moving and my eyes closed to enjoy it. My wolf started howling inside and it was getting out of patience. He knows where the scent is coming from.

“What happend? Why are we stopping?” Felix asked me when he noticed me falling behind the crowd.

“Don’t you get the smell? It’s so amazing. Where is it coming from?”

“What are you talking about? What smell?”

“The fruity smell. Can’t any of you get such an intense smell?” As I said that, everyone started looking at each other’s face. For a moment, I felt like an i***t who is only imagining things when everyone is in their normal senses.

“Fine. I know where it’s coming from. Let’s go and check.” I didn’t mind to wait for anyone and just kept walking towards the way the smell was coming from. I will prove it to everyone that there is a strange smell in lurking around. After walking into the deeper parts of the forest, where the light is still very dim, I started searching for the source of the smell. I know it’s nearby because with my each step, it was getting intense. I know it’s nearby.

“Wait. There is a strange smell here. I get it now. It’s not that intense, but I get it too.” I smiled mentally when Felix also got the smell and announced it to everyone, making me prove right. Now all we have to do is find that source of it.

“Umm.. What is that? Is that a person?” Suddenly one of our warrior, found something in the forest and pointed us towards it. Following his pointing finger, we found a person fallen flat on the ground. Is this the rough who entered our territory uninvited? Only one way to know.

Everyone took caution steps towards the person, in case it attacks us by surprise. But on the other hand, I was getting goosebumps in my entire body with each step. There is something seriously wrong with me. My all the time serious wolf, is now jumping on my head like a pup in excitement. I don’t know if I ever witnessed him do that. But who is this person? Why is his scent affecting me so much?

“It’s a girl.” Just as one of our warrior confirmed the gender of the person, I understood everything clearly. Why I am the one getting so much affected by her scent? Why my body is having goosebumps, why my wolf is jumping in joy and why I have become an i***t all of a sudden?

“A girl? Is she okay?” Hearing the single piece of information, everyone dropped their guard and rushed to check on her. Felix was even one step farther and went to pick her up to check. But just as he was about to touch the girl, my wolf became furious and roared out like a lion.

“Step away from my mate. Don’t touch her. She is mine. MINE..” The deep voice of my wolf echoed in the silent forest, making everyone startled and scared. None of them could dare to challenge me at this moment. So, to save their own a*ses, they backed off from her immediately. Not only that but, they split the way in two to make way for me to reach her, and bowed their head at me in respect. Now my way to my mate is clear.

I wished for this day to come for so long. I have waited for my mate for so long. But now that she is right in front of me, I couldn’t gather the courage and go to her. What if she doesn’t like me? What if she rejects me? No.. She is my mate. I will do everything for her. Even if I have to beg for her love, I will do so in front of everyone. With this thought, I took slow steps towards her. But as I was getting closer to her, my body was turning cold in horror. She is laying flat on the ground like dead. Her entire body is covered in dirt. Her clothes are torned up with blood marks on it. Is she okay?

As I finally reached to her, I found the reason for the guards to not see her. She is so thin that her body is almost in the same level as the ground, making her seem like a root coming out of a tree. Her hair is sticky with mud, making trouble to identify her gender. And her simple dress, of what color no idea, is completely dark in mud and blood. Her hands and legs are scratched and bruised, from which her dress got the blood of. Seeing her in such a condition, I fell down on my knees. Did I waste too much time to find her? Is she gone? Am I the reason for her such condition?

With a shaky hand, I went to remove the strands of hairs off of her face and check if she is still alive. There is no movement to think that there is still a chance. But just as I moved her hair out of her face, a soft blow of breath touched my hand, informing me that she is alive. There is still a chance. My heart jumped up in joy at finding our mate alive. At least I have a chance to get my mate now.

“Hello? Can you hear me?” Putting my hand on her muddy cheek, I tried to wake her up. But I didn’t expect the next step from her.

Just as my hand touched her face, her closed eyes snapped open, and she instantly sat up from the ground like nothing has happend to her. Looking around herself for a second, she started crying and screaming. Not only that, but she started crawling further away from me, followed by a loud scream. The way she instantly caught hold of her leg, I understood that there is something wrong with her leg.

“Hey.. It’s okay. We are not going to hurt you.”

I spoke to her as calmly as possible, but she still got scared of my voice and started crawling back with her hurt leg, avoiding the pain she was in. My own heart started aching to see her in such a condition. I can’t see her face very clearly, but her glistening tears are enough to make my own eyes water up. She must have been running from a big danger. She crawled herself as far as possible until her back touched a tree. She was shaking furiously and crying bitterly, like we are here to kill her.

“Don’t be scared. We won’t hurt you. I am your mate. I will never do any bad to you.” I think informing her about me being her mate, made her calm because she stooped crying or making any sound after hearing that.

“Yes. I am you mate. Don’t you feel that? Trust me. I will save you.” With this, I tried to put my hand on her cheek once more. But before I can, another loud scream from her made me stop in the middle and look at her in shock. This is not good. Why is she behaving like this? What is wrong with her? Before I can think of anything, I saw her body slowly getting limp once more. Maybe she got unconscious again.

“David. I think we better take her to the doctor. Her condition dosen’t look good.” I was till frozen in shock and couldn’t understand why she react like that after hearing about me being her mate. Does that mean she doesn’t want me?

No. It’s not the time to think of such things. I can get my answers later. But right now, my mate needs some serious medical attention. So, picking up from the ground, I carried her towards the house of the pack doctor in my lap. It is a wonder how she is still alive because her weight can be compared to a pillow. Her body is so petite that it feels like I am carrying a baby in my arms. She is nothing compared to my size. Is she truly my luna?
