The attack on Blue Moon was hideous, to say the least. Both the Alpha and Luna had died during the rampage of invaders, and the burning of buildings inside the pack territory. Ashton had just managed to shift into his wolf form for the first time during the full moon on his 13th birthday, just a mere 3 hours before the attack. He stood in the ruins of the pack house, tears escaping his troubled eyes as the pack warriors worked around him desperately putting out the fires and rounding up the few prisoners they'd managed to capture for questioning. The pack elder slowly, cane in hand, limped his way over to Ashton. "Yong Alpha don't cry, wipe your face child and look at me." He almost commanded the last part as he touched the boy's shoulder lightly. Ashton looked up at the old man's wrinkled face. He could see pity in his dark brown eyes, studying his face he could already tell what the Elder had to say. He let out a sigh and wiped his tears on his hoodie sleeve sniffling a little. He looked back up at the Old man. " Elder, why did my parents have to die? Will I be an orphan now?" The man shook his head. " No young Alpha as our laws state you must now take your father's place as Alpha of our pack. Given that you've only barely begun your training and you've just shifted for the first time, your father's Beta, Beta Henry shall help you prepare and lead the pack till your 18th Birthday. Once you turn 18 you be given the Alpha title in full with the ceremony and shall start looking for your Luna." Ashton looked down at the ground as Beta Henry approached from the side. " Ah Beta, I just informed our young Alpha here that he will be working on his training and taking over the pack. I expect you to help him run this pack just as his father would have until his 18th birthday. when he will be given the full title and his Alpha ceremony." Beta Henry nodded at the Elder. "Yes Elder and then he shall choose the next Beta for his team if I am correct?" Ashton looked over to Henry now he was a tall man very buff and he was bald. His right eye had a scar across it his left eye was midnight blue. This man had been like an Uncle to Ashton his whole life, he was his father's best friend and his mate and their children had been a part of Ashton's life as one big family. He grew up with Henry's son Titan as if they were brothers. he already knew when the time came he would choose Titan as his Beta. " Ashton why don't we get you home with Titan and Lucy, you can stay with us till the pack house is rebuilt." Henry smiled down at the boy the Elder looked at both of them pleased smiled and spoke. " Beta let's have the warriors start rebuilding the house tomorrow for tonight we'll have the territory cleaned up and then get this Alpha pup some sleep. Tomorrow morning boy you will start training." Ashton nodded at the Elder then left to go to meet with Titan and his little sister Lucy at the Pack housing. Henry waited till Ashton was out of view then turned back to the Elder. " This attack was very well organized almost as if from within. they only burned down the pack house while everyone was in training and only the Luna was inside. If the Alpha hadn't gone in after her he'd still be alive himself. " The Elder put up a hand stopping him from continuing. " Beta, they didn't die from the fire." Henry's eyes grew wide. "you mean?" "Yes, they were poisoned with wolfsbane, stabbed directly threw the heart. You're right about one thing Beta, this was no mere attack. This was a planned-out murder from the inside, now the question is, who is the traitor and will they be going after Ashton as well." Henry shook his head and balled his fists in anger. " Noone will hurt the boy I will send out a small group to investigate and find the traitor, he will face the High Elders for this crime." Henry spit these words threw clenched teeth, anger escaping his every fiber. The Elder nodded. "Beta, go watch the boy closely, we may not know who is doing this but we know he's not safe until this person is found. His life as well as this pack's safety fall under your watch now." He bowed his head and left limping slowly away. Henry order the warriors into 3 groups before he left. one group to clean up the remainder of the pack house. one group to investigate the pack for the traitor. And one group to guard the pack territory that night. He then went home to his mate Eliza and the kids, knowing this new life was going to prove trials but have promise. The next day the pack began construction on its new pack house. Henry took Titan and Ashton to the training grounds to train the boys in combat. Keeping a close eye on Ashton but also started his training to become the new Alpha as promised. Titan was young and lean only 12 himself his birthday was a week away he hadn't shifted into his wolf yet. But he was very strong and confident. He had his father's midnight blue eyes and he had long braids in his black hair. Ashton was very ripped for a boy of only 13. He had worked out and trained with his father every day since his 5th birthday. He had tan Italian skin dark chocolate eyes and short strawberry blonde curls on his head. His smile radiated as he spared with Titan. Sweat dripping from his pointed nose he crouched down almost as if to lunge. Tiatin smiled mischievously, he already knew Ashton's next move. He jumped to the side and spun around just as he lunged forward his foot kicking Ashton right in the lower ribs. Ashton let out a yelp and tumbled to the side of the ring. He winced holding his ribs and looked up at Titan. " umm, good one Bro but do you have to use all your strength to kick my ass?" Titan laughed and shook his head. "Haha, man I know all your moves already your so predictable, the only way to teach you anything is to kick your ass." Ashton huffed and made a face. " Well that's what this training is for right, so I can learn to be the best fighter and become stronger. I can't become the strongest if my future Beta is always kicking my ass." He smirked and Titan grabbed him up in a big side hug ruffling his curls with his fist. " Yea but I still gotta teach you a thing or two." He said playfully. Ashton yelped out. "Cut it out, man!" "Ah-ha-ahem!" Henry cleared his throat calling the boys back to attention. "Sorry Dad, it won't happen again." Tiatin said upon looking up at his frustrated father. Henry stepped forward from the sidelines and came over to where the boys were standing. They stood feet together hands at their sides eyes forward, just like the warriors of the pack do. " You boys will be training twice as hard now, there's no room for play or error. You must now become leaders and warriors. You will begin training tomorrow with a pack warrior trainer to become the men you need to be for this pack. Do I make myself clear?" He stopped right in front of them his body between theirs so he could speak into both of their ears at the same time. They both nodded. "Yes Sir!" They stated at the same time. "Good now begin again from the top." He ordered and left back to his seat at the sidelines. The boys faced each other took a stance and began to spar again. Hours later the Beta escorted the boys back to the housing for showers and to have lunch. One of the Pack Warriors came up from the side. "Beta Henry, We have found the traitor and have him in the pack dungeon as we speak. I was told to retrieve you by the Elder." Henry looked at the warrior and nodded. " Very well then, you stay on guard the boys do not let them leave the house until I return, and don't allow anyone but my mate or daughter inside." He ordered. The warrior nodded his head. " Yes, Beta." And he took post outside the house. Henry went straight to the Pack Dungeon, where the Pack Elder and a few Pack Warriors awaited him. "Elder." He said bowing his head. " Beta, yes I'm glad you could come to join me. I fear this is a personal issue for you." Henry looked the Elder in his eyes confusion spread across his dark chocolate face. " What do you mean by personal? Elder?" Henry asked and the Elder opened the door Revealing a Young ebony skinned girl with beautiful silky curly hair and crystal Blue eyes. She was chained to the floor scared and whimpering. Henry looked at the woman in shock his jaw opened but words couldn't form. he looked back to the Elder. And he only nodded confirming Henry's fear. " Solest, my sister, is the traitor?" The words barely escaped his lips as tears welled up in his eyes. The betrayal the anger, why would she do this? She was his sister, did she not see her actions reflected upon him? " Yes Beta, Solest was found with the viel of wolfsbane in her room, and the dagger with which she stabbed the Alpha and Luna was hidden under the floorboard beneath her bed. She showed no remorse when questioned she merrily said she'd only tell you the truth." The Elder consoled him and looked over at the girl chained to the floor once more. " We shall give you a moment with her to get the truth behind why she did this treacherous act. But she will be leaving to go before the Grand Elders within the hour. She will face a trial to determine her fate." Henry nodded. " Thank you." He went inside the cell where Solest sat and sat beside her on the floor. He clenched the brim of his nose between his fingers and let out a heavy sigh. She looked up from underneath her thick curls at him almost scared to speak. " Solest, why, why would you murder them? What would bring you to do something so evil and make you such a traitor to Blue Moon Pack? A traitor to your brother?" He asked in a husky voice. She looked back at the ground and smirked then let out a slight cackle. "Oh, dear brother their death was most deserving. Humm the traitor you fail to see was the mate bond they had." She barked out a crazed look in her eyes. Henry looked her over waiting for more explanation. " Brother I was his Lover, I should have been his true mate and been the Luna of this pack. The moon goddess sent that b***h in and he took her without even a second glance at me." She snarled and banged the ground with her petite fist. " But I swore revenge that day I promised him if he was to betray me like that after everything I gave him, then I would hurt him just as badly." Henry shook his head and then barked at his sister in anger. " Murder Solest, Murdering the Alpha wasn't the answer!" " I didn't plan on him being there, I only planned to murder his Luna. But he had to show up while I had the knife plunged into her chest and try to stop me. I fell into him with the knife in the scramble, he wasn't meant to die, only her, I swear." Henry looked at her. " An what about the Rouges we captured that were in the territory, were they also part of the plan?" " Yes." she sighed" I hired them to make it look like an outside attack to take suspicion off myself. I had them set the fire." Henry's eyes winded. She looked up into his eyes once more seeing the hate he had for her she started to cry now acknowledging her stupidity and the punishment she was about to face for the dead she'd done. she grabbed Henry's hands and started to beg for his forgiveness. " Forgive me, Brother, I was a stupid fool, I shouldn't have done on my thoughts and made them actions I should have sought help. I should have set out and found my mate. Please Brother help me I don't want to die." She begged through tears as they flooded her cheeks her eyes now puffy. Henry stood taking his hands away from hers leaving her on the floor. He scoffed, and growled at her. " You shall face whatever punishment they find fit for your crime, you are no longer any sister of mine." He barked back at her anger coursing threw him he left the cell slamming the door behind him before he did something he wasn't proud of. Outside the pack dungeon, the Pack Elder and a group of 4 Pack Warriors waited with a car. They were ready to transport Solest to her trial. "Ah Beta." Said the Elder as he rose from the chair he sat upon. " I hope you've gotten us some answers before we leave for trial." Henry nodded to the Elder. " Yes Elder, The girl Murdered with a planned out intent over a course of years it seems." "Oh?" " When the Alpha was younger before he met our Luna he had relations with this woman. And when the Alpha met the Luna and took her as his mate she swore out a plan to kill the Luna out of Jealousy and rage. She claims the Alpha wasn't meant to die in her plan that he was killed in the stall and she fell on top of him plunging the knife into his chest. She also hired the Rogues we captured to draw attention off herself and to set the fires." "I See," said the Elder." And you believe her?" He questioned. " No, I believe she had ill intent on revenge to kill them both and succeeded in such. Elder I do not wish to be at this trial, I ask for permission to stay and train Alpha Ashton myself instead. " The Elder smiled nodding his head in agreement he patted the Beta on the back. " Wise choice son, it's best not to let this become personal. You shall stay and train the boy, when we return I will send you notice of her punishment." "Thank you, Elder." Henry bowed his head and watched as they loaded up his sister into the car and took her away. He believed this would be the last time he ever saw her.
