Chapter 5Emma slept deeply, her face lax and peaceful. Jesse was content to watch her chest rise and fall in the low light, knowing that sleep wasn’t a possibility for him. Gideon hadn’t called. Jesse wouldn’t rest until Gideon returned, but he wouldn’t even be able to relax until his phone rang.
