8. Look what he did

ANGELA POV I had two choices, let them win and have their way with me or fight back. With no wolf and armed with the training Luna Becky insisted the shewolfs take part in. I raised my knee and swung it forward, hitting Vince in the groin. He groaned in pain and fell to the floor. They were both only a year or so older than me, so they didn’t have their wolves yet either. They were still much stronger though. Which is why when I tried to punch Raymond, he easily blocked it and shoved me with all his might, causing me to hit the wall. My head bounced off it as I fell to the floor. I barely registered a deep growl before my eyes closed. I prayed to the moon goddess that someone had finally come to help me. TWO HOURS LATER I open my eyes and the light forces me to squint. My head hurts and it’s hard for me to think. When I sat up, I noticed I was in the infirmary. “You’re up! Are you okay sweetheart.” My mom gets up from a chair that’s next to the bed. I hadn’t even noticed she was here. I’m so disoriented and my vision is still a little blurry. I groaned and held my head, trying to remember what happened. I felt the gauze that was wrapped around my head and frowned, still confused. “Mom… what happened?” I asked her and she sighed. “I was kind of hoping you could tell me that.” She said nervously. “I was by the gym… and then…” I remembered walking toward the field so that I could find Win and Mel, I had gone to the restroom. That’s when I remembered why I didn’t make it to the field. “Now I remember! Raymond and Vince stopped me… they…” I looked away, not wanting to admit that they were trying to force themselves on me. “Tell me sweetheart.” She held my hand and gave me a reassuring look. “They got mad that I didn’t want to… you know… um… do stuff. So, they weren’t letting me leave.” I said and she nodded her head and frowned. I frowned when I remembered how Adam had watched without even bothering to help before leaving me there alone. “Mom… Adam saw what they were doing but… he didn’t help me. After that, Raymond pushed me into the wall and… that’s the last thing I remember.” I said and held my head. “Oh, honey I’m so sorry that happened.” She had a pained look on her face. “It’s okay mom, I’m fine. I just hope they are punished.” I said, irritated. She sighed and looked away. “What’s wrong?” I asked and she finally looked at me. “Are you sure Adam didn’t help you?” I thought for a moment. “I didn’t see him help mom, he was hiding, and he disappeared when I saw him.” I recounted. She seemed confused by my answer but nodded and turned when the door opened. Beta Lilimar peeked in and walked in when my mother waved her in. “Hey sweetheart. How are you feeling?” She asked and came to my side. “I’m okay I guess, just a little disoriented.” I admitted. She nodded and looked at my mom. “What’s going on?” I asked, noticing they were mind linking. My mother held my hand. “The Alpha and Luna want to speak to you, but we all want to make sure you are feeling well before we go see them.” I sat up and took a deep breath. “I want to go see them now! I want Vince and Raymond to be punished for what they did.” I asserted. Before either of them could stop me, I got up and began to walk out of the infirmary. Beta Lilimar and my mom rushed next to me, each on one side. Holding one of my arms. “You don’t have to do this right this second, it can wait.” Beta Lilimar says, slowing me down. “No. I want to.” I asserted. Those two perverts would lie and twist around the truth the more time they had. We got to the pack house in less than five minutes and went straight to the Alpha’s office. I opened the door without knocking and my grandfather was red-faced mid outburst. “You can’t keep protecting this bad blood!” He yelled and Luna Becky got up in his face. What was going on? Grandad looked at me once before continuing. “I told you what happened and it’s time for you to punish him! Look what he did to my Angela.” He gestured towards me while glaring at Adam. What he did? My head was starting to hurt because I had no idea what he was talking about. Shouldn’t he be pointing at Vince and Raymond? Alpha Luke rolled his eyes and gestured for me to take a seat, knowing Luna Becky was going to lay into my grandfather. “I’ve warned you Brian! Sit down and shut up so that Robbie and Angela can either confirm or deny what you are accusing my son of.” She growled and my grandfather bowed and took his seat. My mother and Beta Lilimar stood by the door next to my father. Did my grandad know that Adam had let Raymond and Vince attack me? That he didn’t help when he could have? That must be what he’s talking about. I bet Robbie was the one that showed up and saved me. Otherwise, why else would he be here? Alpha Luke’s office was packed to the brim at this point. I hadn’t noticed how my father was practically shaking, he was so angry. He was glaring at the boys and my grandad. My mother was trying her best to calm him by holding his arm and rubbing his back. My grandad was unphased, but the boys were trying hard to hide their cower. Their shoulders slumped while avoiding my father’s eyes. They were sitting next to my grandad, not bothering to acknowledge my presence. Adam, on the other hand, was sitting to my left, looking down at his hands. Robbie was sitting on the other side of him. “What happened today, Angela?” Alpha Luke asked softly. Suddenly I felt nervous, Luna Becky gave me a reassuring smile and I took a deep breath. “Raymond and Vince were bothering me…” They tried to interrupt me, but Alpha Luke growled at them, and they shut their mouths. “I noticed Adam hiding behind the corner, but he left.” I looked toward him, but he was looking down at his hands. Did he feel guilty? I didn’t want to get into details, it was so embarrassing. “When they tried to get too handsy I kneed Vince in the groin and tried to punch Raymond, but he managed to dodge it and pushed me into the wall… that’s all I remember.” I said and my grandad got up. “She has a head injury, she doesn’t know what she’s saying!” He yelled. I didn’t understand why he was so upset. I said the truth as I remembered it. Alpha Luke got up and frowned at him. “Lower your voice and sit down.” He said in a scary tone. “We still need to hear from Robbie, the only other person who was there at the time that the incident happened. From my understanding, you showed up after the fact, yet you took it upon yourself to tell these boy’s story for them.” Luna Becky gestured at Vince and Raymond while looking at my grandfather, who was scowling. Luna Becky looked at Robbie. “Can you tell us what happened Robbie?” She asked softly. “I was taking pictures with my friends when Adam mind linked me. He told me there were some guys bothering Angela.” He growled, staring daggers at Vince and Raymond. So, he did want to help me. “He only said that because he got caught! “My grandfather sneered. Robbie returned the sneer which surprised everyone in the room. “He would have helped her straight away if he didn’t believe you or someone from this pack would try and blame him!” He was breathing hard, and his eyes were going black. My mother rushed over and tried to calm him down. My poor mom, she had two Gammas that were ready to blow. Meanwhile, my head was spinning as it tried to piece everything together. Robbie sighed and looked away from grandad. “When I got there Adam was already beating up Raymond, both Angela and Vince were on the floor. The only difference was that Angela was unconscious and Vince was holding his junk.” He glared at them. “When grandad arrived, I was holding Vince down and Adam was checking on Angela, he pushed him away and started yelling at him.” He finished recounting. Alpha Luke turned to my grandfather. “Why did you come in here saying that Adam had attacked Angela and that Raymond and Vince had helped her if, when you showed up, Robbie was busy holding Vince down instead of stopping Adam from “attacking” Angela.” He asked as Luna Becky rubbed his shoulder. His eyes were flickering from black to brown, his wolf near the surface. My grandad scoffed and gestured toward Robbie. “They are friends, he believes everything he says. When Robbie finally let go of Vince to go for help, the boys told me what happened. Robbie didn’t show up until after, he only saw Adam beating up Raymond, who was trying to stop him in the first place.” Wow, he took their word without question. My brother stood up and glared at my grandfather. “You think I would believe Adam if I thought for one second, he was doing anything to hurt my sister!” He was panting and close to shifting. “Robbie… I-I…” My grandad didn’t know what to say. He knew my brother would never let anyone hurt me, no matter who they were. “There is no way Adam was attacking Angela. You know how I know?” He asked but didn’t wait for an answer. “I told him to go around the building and attack from behind so that we could catch them off guard. I saw him running around as I went the other way!” Robbie further confirmed. I knew that he wasn’t attacking me but for the few minutes he disappeared, I believed the worst of him. Now, not only was my grandfather’s story not possible, but it further confirmed my version of events. He did indeed leave, but he came back. “I should have stepped in as soon as it happened.” Adam’s soft deep voice startled me. “I’m sorry, I just… I hesitated and I’m sorry you got hurt.” He was still looking down at his hands. It confirmed that he was feeling guilty, but not for the reasons I thought. He did nothing wrong, yet he was apologizing. It would have been great if he would have stopped them straight away, but he probably thought I was like my grandad, that I would say he was in on it or something. I did, after all, doubt him just like everyone else.
