“Enough with the questions for now. There’s something you have to see since you’re writing an article about me.” He downed another shot of vodka, stood, and grabbed my right hand. With a short and rough tug, he pulled me out of my chair and said, “Follow me. It’s outside.” The October horizon filled with blue-purple-red splotches through the autumn leaves. A wind had kicked up, and it continued to rain. Large droplets of rain plummeted down from the darkening heavens, producing a cold and wet chill at the back of my neck.
