Chapter 13

Offer taken Roxanne I walked home after the extra ship I took. Sadly, Christmas was getting closer and st this time of the year, the club had less visitors which meant less money. We both had savings with Clarissa but I didn't want to touch mine and neither hers for the repair of Buggie. We had to make more money if we wanted to keep going ahead with our dreams. I sighed before turned the key in the lock. When I walked in I saw a t-shirt on the floor and I chuckled softly. " It seems like their date ended up being hot."- I thought and tried to make some breakfast before I sneaked to my bedroom. While the water was boiling in the teapot, I sat at the table and leaned my head on top of it. I woke up for the screaming sound of the pot. - Oh s**t! - I said and jumped up to take it down from the gas, praying for that I didn't wake up Clarissa or Rico. But when I grabbed the pot my hand met with Rico's. - Good morning!- he said. - Morning! Sorry for waking you up. - We were already awake. - I heard Clarissa's voice from behind Rico. She looked like a lovesick puppy and blushed when I winked at her while Rico poured us some tea. - As I see you had a nice time last night. - I said and earned an annoyed glance from Clarissa. Rico noticed it and gave a peck on top of her head. My friend melted like ice cream in a hot summer day. - Hopefully we can repeat it. - Rico said and Clarissa nodded. -I'd love to! - she said and Rico glanced at his watch before he sighed and looked apologetically at Clarissa. - I have to go back. I hate to leave you so early but my boss is waiting for me, and I don't want to get into trouble. - Clarissa pouted. - Can't you ask him for a few more hours? - Rico checked his phone and had hi eyes opened wide. - Oh oh... - that's all he said and I held Clarissa's hand. - I think he is late already. - Rico nodded and rushed to Clarissa's room. He dressed up faster than anyone I knew and came back to Clarissa before he went back home. He grabbed her and lifted her from her chair. Clarissa was now in Rico's arms and he kissed her with so much passion that I felt the urge to open the windows to cool the room down. - I'll text you when I arrive back. - Rico said and put her down. - Take care.- Clarissa said and Rico waved goodbye. He rushed out of the door and Clarissa was standing there looking at the door. She seemed so sad that I wanted to cheer her up. - You must tell me what you did. He is clearly head over heels for you. - Clarissa sat back on her chair and sighed. - We did nothing. I told him the truth and he stopped. I don't know why. - I think that is a good thing. He didn't want to rush things with you and that is a really good thing. - Do you think so? -I'm hundred percent sure. - I said and drank a bit of my tea. - By the way. Where have you been? - Clarissa asked. - As I said in my note, I took and extra shift. We need money to fix Buggie. - We have savings. - Clarissa reminded me but I shook my head while took a bite from my toast. - Yes, for your restaurant and for my dance lessons. I won't give up on or dreams because of a tiny issue like that. Although it is getting colder and we will need Buggie of the don't want to unfreeze our asses every night. I called Nicolas and accepted his offer. In two weeks, I'll do his private party. - Clarissa squeaked and jumped up from her chair to hg me tightly. - Yay! Finally! Believe me thia is a good decision, not only for the money. If there will be as many important people as he said, you get a chance to mingle with them and build good relationships. This could be the first ladder to your carrier! I'm so happy for you! - I smiled at her mischievously. Clarissa took a step back. - I know this grin too well. What have you done? - I shrugged. - You are coming with me. They agreed. - Clarissa smiled from ear to ear and thanked me thousands of times. - Stop thanking me! Tell me instead what did you do last night with every detail! - I said while we walked to the living room and threw ourselves on the couch. - Can't I just thank you instead? - she asked and I shook my head. Clarissa told me everything and I was more than happy for her. Rico really seemed to be a nice guy and a real gentleman. I hoped he wasn't playing with Clarissa's feelings. That would be the cruelest thing, and I will make him pay for it if this is only a game for him. After breakfast I went to my room and took a quick shower before I fall asleep in my bed. I've had an exhausting night. There were creepy guys again in the club and I felt like I was going to get paranoid. Someone was following me home, I was sure about it even if I didn't see the person. During my shift I called Nicolas to accept the offer and he seemed to be so relaxed. Also he was happy that Clarissa wanted to come as well. We will see it soon how things are going to turn out. Rico I was going home with the maximum speed I could. I left the car in the forest and shifted for the rest of the journey. In our wolf form it only took one and a half hour to arrive back to our Pack. Jeremy sent me at least ten messages and I had six missed calls from him. Something must happened to Roxanne last night that he felt and got angry. My wolf blocked him out and I didn't heard him through our link last night. I arrived back and ran directly to Jeremy's office. He was there waiting for me. - Take a seat. - I did as he ordered. - I hope you have a reasonable explanation for why I couldn't reach you. - he said but we both knew that I had no good excuse. - I'm sorry Alpha. - I said and he chuckled. - We know each other since we were pups and you think that with an apology you can escape? I'm disappointed. - I won't lie. I've sent the night at Cherry and Carolina's house. - Jeremy's eyes got black as coal and I lifted my hands in defense. - I was with Cherry. Carolina was working. - I sent you there to keep an eye on Carolina, not to spend your time with a human slut. - I felt my wolf coming to the surface and I stood up hitting Jeremy's desk. - She isn't a slut! - Jeremy's lifted an eyebrow in surprise. - Is she your mate? - he asked and I shook my head. - Than, why are you defending her so much? - he asked now as a friend and not as my Alpha. Jeremy normally acted like a jerk, and a strong, cruel Alpha. We all respected him and were loyal to him. But when he showed his true self I always wondered, what happened to him before he became our Alpha? - I know this sounds stupid but I fell in love with her. I feel what most people only feels for their mates, yet my wolf didn't say she was our mate. This is so confusing. By her side everything is easier and happier. - I admitted. Jeremy got lost in his thoughts. - Why did you try to call me? - I asked remembering him of why I was there in first place. -I had a horrible feeling last night. Ulric was snarling and growling. He doesn't let me sleep since we left that town. Did you notice anything weird or any bruises on Carolina? - he asked and if I didn't know him I would believe that I heard concern in his voice. - She seemed tired but that's all. I'll ask Cherry about it later. - Jeremy nodded and I was about to leave his office when he said. - Did you get any valuable information about her? - I stopped. I knew her real name but there was no way I'll tell to Jeremy. He is going to reject her immediately. I believe in the Moon Goddess, and in her choices. If these two were meant to be they'll be together. If its apt to me I'll help this stubborn donkey to change his mind about Roxanne. I turned back and sat down. - Prepare yourself for a sad story.
