Lillian's POV
"You ask too many questions!" he huffs and walks away and I have never been more glad.
Few minutes later I found Emily chatting to a group of people and I felt relieved, she spots me and excuses her group before coming to me.
"Where have you been, I was looking all over for you?" I ask as soon as she approaches me.
"Why would you look for me? I thought you were having a good time with my brother, where is he?" she says as she starts looking around for him.
"He went his way and left me all alone" I tell her but Emily gives me a doubtful look.
Emily is so fond of her brother I hardly believe she would believe me if I were to tell her how mean her brother is.
"I don't think so, maybe he just went to get you a drink, or something to eat." of course she would say that.
"Come join me and my friends." she says pulling me by my hand to where they were standing, she soon introduces us and we start chatting, it was fun talking to them and I was starting to relax as I laughed to something someone said in our little group until.
"Lillian where have you been? I went to get you a drink but when I returned you weren't there." William says from behind me and my laughter fell, Emily gives me a look that said 'I told you so'.
I turn to him and there he is holding two drinks in his hands smiling at me, I collect the drink he hands me giving him a fake smile of my own.
"You could have told me where you were going, then I won't have to worry."
"Yes Wills," Emily chips in "don't leave her alone again."
"My bad." he apologises.
"Awwnnnn." Emily's friends who were all watching coo.
"You two are so cute together." one of Emily's friends gushes and the rest agree with her.
"No, we are not together..."
"Yet!" Emily smirks as she high fives one of her friends.
"Maybe you would you like to go somewhere more private?" William offers and I'm quick to agree with.
"Yes please" anything to get me out of here cause I feel so annoyed, seems like it's a family trait the two siblings share to annoy someone.
I follow William and we were about to go out.
"Where are you going you two?" Sarah who was talking to some people asks as she saw us, Max who was beside her also turns his attention to us.
"I am taking Lillian out so she can have some fresh air." William looks at me as he answers his mother.
"Well," Sarah beams "don't let us keep you, go ahead. "
The two of us drop our drinks before walking out but I didn't miss the nod of approval Max gave his son, William leads me to a secluded place at the side of the house, I find a bench under a tree shade and sat there while William stands against the tree with his head down, he seemed to be thinking hard about something, I keep quiet trying to contain the questions I have in my head but I really want some answers, the questions won't answer themselves.
William looks up and our eyes meet, this is the first time I am making direct contact with his eyes and something stirs inside me, under the dark night with the light barely shining I can see so many emotions running through his eyes.
The two of us stare at each other each having his own thoughts, I have to admit to myself, William is very good looking with his dark brown almost black hair, hazel green eyes, his nice stubble and height, it is all any girl would drool over...
"Why don't you take a picture so you can paste it in your room and stare at it all day."
But his behaviour is nothing to write home about, or maybe he feels arrogant because of his looks.
"hey, snap out of it! what are you thinking so hard about?" he says snapping his fingers in front of my face and I snap out of it completely, standing up.
William's POV
Lillian and I stare at each other for a while and I wonder what thoughts are going through her mind at the moment. I think back to my last conversation with James on the phone earlier when he called me, he had told me not to do anything stupid, I hope being annoying doesn't count as being stupid.
"Why don't you take a picture so you can paste it in your room and stare at it all day." I tell her but she doesn't budge.
"Hey , snap out of it! what are you thinking so hard about?"
I tell her then snap my fingers in front of her when she wouldn't stop staring and the thoughtful expression on her face turns to a frown and she stands up.
"I have to ask you this."
"Go ahead." I motion for her to ask me whatever it is, wanting to know what she currently going through her mind.
"Look, I don't understand all these that is going on, why is everyone trying to ship us together, and keep suggesting that we are together!? From your parents, to Emily and everyone else we meet!" Lillian confronts me and I'm taken off guard .
"I don't know what you are talking about!" I try to deny it.
"Don't lie to me, you know what's going on cause you keep playing along!" she says exasperatedly.
"You know how family can be pressuring at times." I try to reason.
