Chapter Five

1001 Words
William' POV It's been over a week, 10 days since I had ordered for Rory to run a background check on Lillian and dig out any dark secret she could be hiding but still no news, it usually takes 3 to 4 days to finish so why is it taking longer this time? What annoys me the most is that Lillian stays in our house and my parents are expecting to start making moves towards her. But the problem, is this girl shows no interest towards me at all, it was easier to pretend with other girls as they were always throwing themselves at me but this girl acts like I do not exist at all and that is why I want to know more about her, I took my car and drove to James's place to see what we would do about her. ******* Lillian's POV "Are you done with that assignment professor Tom gave us, I still can't get it." Molly asks me as we walk out of a concluded lecture in school, since that unfaithful day William made me get to school late, I went home and brought over my own car. "Me neither, you were even lucky to attend the class." "We really can't afford to fail this assignment." Molly sighs. "Anyways how is it going with your man?" she asked. "My man?" I don't have a boyfriend so what is she talking about. "Yes, Mr. Rude guy" "Oh! I just try to avoid him all the time." "I definitely want to see him someday, I mean what does he look like?" "Meh," I curled my lips downwards in distaste. "there is nothing to see, where is Troy taking you for your next that?" I dismiss and I'm glad she forgets about William and starts talking about her boyfriend Troy. We don't usually hide anything from each other, Molly and I, but if I start describing how good looking William is, she will probably think I just like him. ******** Williams' POV I arrive at James's place and knocked and a few seconds later he opens the door, I walk in after we greet each other with our signature hand shake. I sit down on the sofa and James joined me sitting on the Sofa opposite mine. "I was wondering when you would come." he says knowing what I'm here for. "Then you must know what I would like to hear." I replied. "Well sorry Wills, I have nothing of such." "What do you mean? It's been over a week, Rory has never taken that long." "Calm down, I'm meeting with him later today, we can go together so you can hear from him yourself." "What time?" "In two hours." I let out a sigh and James laughs at me standing out and taking some drinks from his fridge. James is currently engaged to his fiancée Jane, and even though he doesn't share the same beliefs about marriage with me, he does help support me all the time, just like I also support him. James had been my friend since high school and we know each other very well, to avoid getting caught by my parents, James hired Rory so he could do all the investigations. "But you don't really plan to spend the rest of your life alone, do you?" "Probably, why?" "I just can't imagine what it would be like, being all alone with no one else in my life, absolutely boring." "Marriage isn't really an achievement." I tell him rolling my eyes at him as he passes me a drink, I grab the drink and start drinking and James goes back to his seat. "Maybe it is, maybe it is not, but there is nothing like having someone to share all the bad and good times together with." "And you know that because you are a love doctor." he ignores my sarcasm and continue. "No, I know that because growing up I saw how our parents loved each other and there is nothing I want more than that." I keep quiet knowing he is right, we were all lucky to have our parents raise us and seeing them so loving towards each other made you also want to get married right away. "I guess I'm just not that lucky." I say looking down, referring to my own past love. "How is it going with Lillian." James changes the topic and I'm glad because I didn't want to think more about the past. "not much really, the girl just really annoys me." I told him. "Annoying how? Does she pick at you or something?" And that's when I started lamenting "No! She doesn't even look at me, she always ties her hair up in a pony tail or a bun, I mean her neck is attractive and all but she looks better with her hair down, the girl doesn't even make eye contact with me and acts like I do not exist at all it's like I'm not good looking and attractive, she also gets everyone's attention without doing much and then she gets all shy when she gets the attention, just why does she have to come live with us?!" I sigh as I finish lamenting. James raises a brow at me after telling him all that and I realise what I've just said "Yeah! Very annoying I see" he says giving me a weird look "Erm... Uhm! yeah!" I cleated my throat feeling awkward. "Si what's the time now?" James kept staring at me as if I had grown two heads, I check the time on my phone and there is an hour left so I quickly get up. "Come on, let's go meet Rory and get this over with." I dash for the door and James gets up following me. "Isn't it too early to go now, there is an hour left." "You don't delay good things my friend" I tell him as he locks his door and we head out together.
