It was a week after the last failed investigation, which only brought a new victim into the picture. It wasn't an exaggeration to say that all of those involved with the investigation were standing on edge that day...
"That's going to be all..." Samantha said as she ended the interrogation and headed out of the room. Someone had been waiting for her outside. "Irene, I didn't know you were here..." She remarked with a smile on her face as she approached him. "How have you been doing lately?" She asked, her attitude still joyful.
"......." Irene hesitated to speak for a while longer before he finally turned to the woman. "I'm sorry, for not being able to capture him..." He said in a low but sincere voice as he lowered his head down.
